Nice one snowy ! I would think that a majority of US locals have been reproduced at one time or another.
I think I might have a few lying around.
Let's see some more folks!
The most popular reproduction of all.
Just curious: How can you tell that the Guernsey occupation stamps are forgeries? Maybe the "clean" roulettes? My copies of the same stamps seem to be semi-rouletted/perforated. Mine also seem to be a bit sharper/less "fuzzy," but that could just be my imagination. The 2 1/2p forgery seems to be a bit less intense in colour.

After more than 2 years........some additions to the (long forgotten) thread !
A nice find in 2016 !
"I definitely do not spend a ton of cash."
"Hm. I'm jealous of those GVI swastika overprints, which I always thought cost at least a ton of cash! By all means point me to some cheap source of same."
"The item below has been cropping up for decades now, in an overpriced joblot of worthless Polish stamps, where the vendors suggest it 'may not be genuine'.
"
A couple more whilst I am sucking my thumbs !
It's been a while !
Here are some repros of the Palestine Mandate issues. Printed at the request of Mr.Arafat !
Complete with Jubilee line !
Reproductions of the 1945 Duchess of Gloucester fund-raising labels (Australia).
I would give a body part to have those “1945 Duchess of Gloucester fund-raising labels,” assuming I still have the body part, but I couldn’t the originals or reproductions of those labels online anywhere! They would fit nicely into my oligarchs medicine collection and exhibit.

Too Goo To BE True! (TGTBT)
A page out of my collection of "genuine" forgeries and "honest" reprints. These are obviously done on a laser color priter! Other items in the book are by Spiro, Fournier and others.
You’re right, LB, what a FUN collection! That’s one way to have “copies” of the classics to enjoy. :-). SPIFFY!
Probably a dozen years or so give or take a seller on ebay was selling reproductions ..i decided to bid and this is a sample of what i received. O.K. he got me on this one...not one of my favorites in the fun collection. I would be interested to learn if anyone else knew of this person or possibly purchased from him if they would admit it.
"Clive, these were used as a propaganda tool during the ongoing conflict with Israel. Most were overprinted with such words as "Israelis for a free Palestine" etc.
I managed to pick up one set in blocks of 4 all with different overprints but they were in limited supply so not cheap. But I was surprised by the quality. They are also a bit larger than the originals. My guess, and it is only that, is that Arafat had them ordered from the Bundesdruckerie in Berlin and had them overprinted locally in Ramallah. At the time, the Palestinian Authority stamps came from Berlin.
I haven't seen many around in recent years but when they do come up, they are not cheap !!
Anyway here is an example with the overprints, of which there are many.
"
Philb......I might have a few of those. But where they came from ? Too long ago to remember. I will check tomorrow.
In the meantime, more fun stuff !!
I have never seen one of these for real, so what gives it away as a fake / reproduction
Maybe the catalogue value !!! The scan is not clear enough to see what kind of repro it is.
This is a fun thread..resurrected .
On fakes and reproductions-wouldn't the paper quality give it away?

Germany 1949, stamp forged by Peter Winter around 1980 I think.
The paper has no watermark, a shade and printing method different from the original.
Forged overprint on forged stamps.
Perforation in line instead of combined perforation and several drawing elements make it easy to detect forgings.
They unfortunately left my collection a month ago.
German colony stamp, Cameroon
At a sufficient magnification, you can see the dots on the edge of the letters - characteristic of counterfeiting with a computer printer.
Any idea how it's done?
If a person was really knowledgeable about their printer it would be no problem running a stamp attached to a piece of paper and have it print the overprint on the stamp. I suppose the person could run off a whole page of stamps and then perforate them and put on the overprints as part of the process but getting the right paper for the stamps might be difficult. I never really thought of it before. Or maybe just run off the overprint and somehow attach it to a hand stamp or maybe just run off the hand stamp on a 3D printer!!
First of all, I wonder why they applied a fake overprint on a stamp that was worth more in its original state.
This leads me to the conclusion that the stamp is also fake (unfortunately I don't think I have the stamp anymore to check)
With a better photo editing program than mine, the original overprint can be isolated and reproduced on the stamp with the help of a computer printer.
I managed only this much:
With a 3D printer, you can also create a device that gives the impression that the overprint is typo printed.
They fail with the color which is generally a dark black.
I notice that @Harvey has already answered.

Thank you!
The 1940 Adhesive Stamp Exhibition held in Bournemouth, Southern England offered visitors the chance to buy a souvenir sheet depicting the Penny Black with a Maltese Cross cancel. The Philatelic Congress of Great Britain, held just before the exhibition at a nearby venue, also produced a souvenir for Congress members with Penny Black reproduction and text.
To save money during WWII, both souvenirs depicted the same image and the sheet shown here is one of a few Proof copies which covered both events. Full sheets of 4 are scarce as most of the sheets were broken down after the events.
The Proof sheets were most likely the work of Waterlow & Sons.

Thanks to those who have posted more nice reproductions (cum-forgeries (?)). Nice to see some additions.
The 'stamp' below is yet another reproduction of the 1929 GB Postal Union Congress £1 stamp.
This one holds a special place in my heart.
This reproduction was printed by Enschede on an old printing press at the Guildhall in London during the 2010, 'Festival of Stamps'. It was one of many events held throughout the year in Britain and ran alongside the International Stamp exhibition in London.
I was at the Guildhall on the opening morning, unaware that the Printing Press, manned by staff from Holland, would not be in use until the following day and then only for a short time. But during a trial run, in preparation for the following day's demonstration, a lucky few of us watched these stamps (printed in sheets of 4) come straight off the press and we even got to hold them in our hand, under supervision of course !!
It was a day, and a festival, to remember.
Later, much later 50 blocks of 4 went on sale in the form of a lottery. I got lucky !
It is, and will remain one of the key items of British Stamp Exhibition souvenirs.

Poor quality reproductions of WWII German Propaganda stamps. These were produced by Fameface of Australia.
Another from Australia !
This time a sheet reproduction of the 1920 PALS 'airmail' issue. The sheet was given away as a freebie in an Aussie Stamp Magazine.
PALS is named after a Young Boys magazine I believe.
There were many other issues, also reproductions like this one.
Jansimon said I have never seen one of these for real, so what gives it away as a fake / reproduction
Its a reproduction as it has some sort of advertising printed on the reverse, can't show it as I can't lay my hands on the stamp at the moment .
Brian
Harrison & Sons reproduced the QEII Great Britain Coronation set of 1953 for the Penrose Annual of 1954. The set, in black, was on thick paper with an underprint.
Printed in sheets of 12, 3 of each type/value with the designer's Imprint under each strip.
A classic and classical looking reproduction.
Another reproduction of a WWII German Propaganda issue, this time in the form of a miniature sheet.
(Oops ! I promised no marginal inscriptions !!)
Carrying on from Philatelia's thread about 'fun' collections, this one is mine. Not collected to deceive or cheat anyone, not collected to fill any nagging gaps in my stamp albums....only collected for the fun. I don't do research (their isn't much info anyway, for the most part), I don't flyspeck or check perfs and I definitely do not spend a ton of cash.
Some are not cheap, some are quality printings and many are not. The range is extensive, very good to downright hilarious. I will attempt to show both ends !!
Frowned upon by many and often discussed in an unpleasant manner, they are nonetheless very colourful and hugely entertaining.
I don't go out of my way to find them, most often they find me. I don't make them myself and I prefer it if they have 'Faux' or some similar term printed on the reverse.
I only add to this album a reproduction that is only that, and not part of a larger sheet with text or ornaments. The only exception is if the reproduction is on a larger sheet of plain card or paper....but blank with ONLY the reproduction.
I prefer if the repro has perforations and\or gum, preferably both. But like any oddball collector, what arrives goes in the album. Imperfs gratefully received so to speak. Of course if that's how the original came......then not a problem.
I prefer if it's in the same colour but it still gets a place if it isn't. Sometimes one can find many colours of a stamp that was originally in only one colour !!
I do not knowingly put into the album an Imperf that has been cut from a Miniature or Souvenir sheet. If I later find out that an item I have is a 'cut-out' then it gets kicked out ! I have to draw the line somewhere !!
Minor changes to the original are accepted in most cases, if tastefully done. A moustache on the Queens portait does not count as a minor change and will be discarded to the fantasy collection !
My 'FUN' collection....REPRODUCTIONS !
Lots more to come. Please feel free to add any reproductions you may have here on this thread. Always nice to see......just for fun of course !
