I believe it is Bridget Bardot.
Quoting The Guardian, "Designers say youthful depiction of Marianne for new stamp was partially inspired by Femen founder Inna Shevchenko." According to Wikipedia, Femen is "a feminist protest group founded in Ukraine in 2008. The group is now based in Paris. The organization became internationally known for organizing controversial topless protests against sex tourism, religious institutions, sexism and other social, national and international topics." When do classes start at Jedi?

P.S. I will swear on a stack of Bibbles that I already knew this information, and didn't have to resort to Wikipedia.
Hi everyone;
Maybe we should wait for the gals to try. This is the only clue I'll give to this quiz, the answer is fashion related. Most guys could care less about fashion.
Thanks to 'bobstew617' and 'bobstamp' for trying to solve this one.

What I know about fashion design you could fit on the head of a pen. I do remember the infamous murder of Italian fashion mogul Giovanni Versace in the 1990s and that he had a sister, Donatella Versace, also in the fashion world. So Donatella Versace is my guess.
Each Marianne was inspired by a French lady this one is "Marianne de Briat"
I think is inspired by the portrait of "Isabelle Adjani".
the first Marianne désigned by face.
A link on Marianne de Briat for more information : http://www.phil-ouest.com/Series.php?Nom_serie=Marianne_Briat

Hi everyone;
Well it looks like I got a good stumper here. Where are all you fashionistas out there?
Everyone will receive a prize for trying to guess the correct answer. The prize is a full scale set of plans and schematics for constructing your own light sabre. A requirement to enter the Jedi University, but only the winner gets the free trip.
Thank you for your guesses 'foudutimbre' and 'bobby1948' but you were both incorrect.
Keep trying

I wonder if the President of France gets to pick which of his girlfriends can be the next "Marianne" figure.
Think of it, that would be an interesting approach!
rrr...
Hi everyone;
@ foudutimbre; with four different answers for your second attempt at this riddle, you are obviously not sure who she is. So no prize for you, and you used the internet also, which was against the rules.
The question was who can give the name, occupation, and nationality of this person on these stamps. The correct answers were:
1) Laetitia Casta
2) Victoria's Secret super model, and one of the runway "Angels"
3) She is a French citizen
Thanks for trying everyone!

It is a pity the quizmaster has the wrong answer (IMHO) .
Laetitia Casta only became the official model for Marianne in 2000, as foudutimbre already noted, while the stamps the question was about were issued between 1990 and 1996, so she can't have modeled for these stamps. They are officially known as "Marianne de Briat" or "Marianne du Bicentennaire" and as far as I know, Catherine Deneuve, French actress, was the model for them.

Hi everyone,
Excuse my bad english, may be I haven't understand correctly the questions? but the stamps you added as informed by Janesimon are called "Marianne of Briat" are the bicentennial Marianne issued between 1990 and 2008. the 21st century or Marianne of July 14th (independence day of France) is Laeticia Casta. Cathrine Deneuve (1985)
It is true I searched through web (apologies I did not know that it was not allowed), but also other sources.
Cheers

Hi Everyone;
I was just sorting some stamps and encountered this nice set. It got me to wondering, about how we collectors tend to study papers, inks, and many things about stamps. We very rarely notice something about stamp images, unless they involve geography, history, or the topic depicted, but very little about pop culture.
Who can give the name, occupation, and nationality, of the person who this 21st century Marianne was modeled after. She is a living person and rather famous.
The winner will receive an all expense paid trip to the Jedi University on the new Martian colony. However you DO NOT win the all expense paid trip if you use the internet for this quiz. Only your knowledge of pop culture please!
Good luck everyone
