Oops was that U.S. covers? ....i just can not help messing up !!
I love the old covers too.
They just scream 'history'...
I wonder how hard it would become to fill the holes in a stamp album with the stamps on cover... Do you think it has ever been done?
Edit
Talking about each design, not every single Scott#, which would require watermark testing and such.
One of my pet projects is to collect covers of all the historic stamps (US) that I can find. I've used a few to teach kids at my daughter-in-laws classroom (5th grade) about American History and the value of stamp collecting as a great hobby for studying each piece as a image of the past. Unfortunately, the kids of today do not understand that there was a time that there was no telephones, let alone cell and internet access.

Never mind that you posted it in the wrong section, it is a very nice cover (I think the triangular Dutch airmail stamps are really beautiful)
Thank you my son, the Netherlands was my first serious country collection...i was hooked by the "summer" for the kids..semipostals !
Love the baby Zep!
That's the first FDC I have ever seen for that issue.
Bet that wasn't in the bargin bin!
Thanks, Here's the FDC of the baby Zep:

One of my major phoo paws in my life was selling this cover. I used the money from the sale of this and some other high end stamps to purchase a house, never seen one in auction since:

a house is important..stamps are important !
That's purty!

i don't have a million interests like some folks seem to have nowadays..i have my stamps and a 2012 261 hp Nissan Frontier 4x4 to get me out of tight spots if i have to ! I guess i am happy !
