you checked the watermark and are sure that it is wmk #297 (acc. to Scott) and not #313, what would make it O40 with a minimal cat. value? Michel cat. value for the earlier version is 700 euros for a mnh copy.

I second to Jansimon: the watermark must be checked 100 % sure.
My Michel 2023/24 values the stamp € 300.-,mint.n.h.

My Michel is from 2012, so I think that says something as well, comparing that price with the one given by Werner...

Phew! I am having no luck finding a pic of either of the 2 watermarks listed in Scott (297 and 313). Any help?
Likely wasting our time. Undoubtedly O40.

Thanks Jan. My stamp's watermark looks like neither. However, it appears to be om granite paper, which would point O40. See attached.

I think yours is the better one!
See what I traced out in snip n sketch.
looks kinda like a 297? could be a 313 too. image quality a little low.
Scan it maybe if you could?

Michel calls it Wz 3 (as it is the 3rd type of watermark for the DDR 
) and differentiates it in two subcategories.
I played a bit with your picture in Photoshop and this is what I can see
All that effort for a 20 cents stamp

This is Scott O22a. It's a variant from O22 in that the compass projects at the right, versus left on the regular issue. This carries a Scott Mint CV of $550. This is from Scott 20 2013, V.3. I looked around to see what they might be going for and find unused prices ranging from less than $32 to $249. Quite a range. Anyone having and thoughts or knowledge of this stamp?
