I applaud your efforts and your resolve Dave! Hopefully we have weathered the worst of these most recent storms, and fair weather is on the horizon.
Keep up the good work, and we all will be relieved to "Take 'er easy, eh!" again.

hi Dave,
Good to hear from you again and I am sorry to read that you have had a bit of a difficult time.
""the German people are the true Holocaust survivors""
I applaud the work you've done and fully support the mission of the Holocaust Stamps Project. With the frightening rise of antisemitism worldwide, efforts like this are more important than ever before.
I'll try to get a package together to send the lady up in New York.
Stay warm up in the 51st state! If you need an American flag, I've got a nice one I can send your way. It's double-stitched, heavy duty and made in the USA!
Be well,
Ernie
Hey Ernie, I could sure use one! Actually, just kidding. Right now the only flags I have are Texas and Mississippi, but next month I'll be visiting the free State of Florida, and I'll pick up one of theirs, as well as a USA. Or should I wait until another star is added?
@Benque Haha! Love your sense of humor you gotta laugh at all of this stuff... Hey, Texas, Mississippi and now Florida. You're hittin' some great states! Does "QC" stand for Quebec City?
I was just looking at QC online... looks like a fascinating place full of history. "Old Quebec City" looks like my kind of place; I would love to come visit. Maybe I'll come during some of the warmer months.
Hi Ernie, QC is the abbreviation for Province of Quebec. Quebec City is really a beautiful city. I haven't been there for 50 years or so. Montreal is also very, very nice, with much history and buildings dating back to 16th century. Old Montreal is jam packed with wonderful little restaurants. Then there is the old fort on St Helen's island, which is adjacent to the site of the 1967 world's fair. If you visit Quebec, the absolute best time is May-June, as the weather is usually just great then...sunny and not too hot/humid. As well, the Quebec carnival in Quebec City in February is really something. Kind of like Mardi-Gras on ice. Gotta keep the anti freeze flowing, and last time I was there, it sure was. A real blast! I can only wonder if it is no longer allowed though, like everything else fun. But....the times they are a changin.
@Benque, that's awesome man. I've heard Montreal is a fantastic place to do a long weekend and easy to get to. There are so many cool places to visit in this world. My kids are all grown now. Me and my wife talk all the time about "hittin' the road". Would love to come up there one day. We're camping on Marathon Key for a week in March. Take care Friend!
Marathon Key: Absolutely beautiful! What a great place to vacation. I am really looking forward to pictures when you return home.
Sorry to hijack the thread Dave, but ya know how we old timers get ta wanderin.
Geez. No sooner do we get offered membership in the USAC (United States of America & Canada) and we're already hijacked!
Anyway, thanks for the kind thoughts. It really has been a trying time.
BTW, a German friend of mine laughed at my neighbor's comment and said "My father saw dozens of Jews and ethnic Poles in his village sent to death camps. And just one fellow German who was a known Communist agitator and alleged rapist". So the "victim appropriation" is truly ridiculous.
Dave
Sorry to hear you've had rough sledding, Dave. All the best to you.
BP
I have posted very little here in the past year, and with almost no buying or selling. I also have not found the energy to attend meetings of my local stamp club. A few people have asked if the project is still afloat - it is(ish). Apart from some family issues I have been dealing with, that I will keep private, here is an edited response I sent to my buddy Mel this evening...
The events of "October 7th" with the military response of Israel, and all the protests since, have cast a pall on the project. Lots of people are missing the plot and just assume this is a "Jewish" project and therefore a pro-Israel issue. I have had some pushback (including explanations for lower donations) and even some fairly nasty emails. My German neighbour who was grilling me about the project this summer no longer speaks to me because I dismissed his claim that my efforts were inappropriate since "the German people are the true Holocaust survivors".
So I've been publicly laying low for a while, and am a bit dispirited, but plugging away. Hopefully I can get more proactive and back on-track soon. Meanwhile, I'm attending to my collection (hit-and-miss), and have done more trading than anything else with a few SOR folks.
But at least I have some good news on the mail front (regarding both US-Canada mailing costs and our labour issues). My wife's father's wife's neice (follow the bouncing ball) lives in NY state across from Niagara Falls where she's originally from. She has agreed to accept large envelopes/parcels/boxes (NOT regular letter-envelopes) sent within the USA, and bring them to Canada when she visits 4-6 times a year. So if anyone is interested, you can now mail such items to her address - but she's insistent that it has to be addressed very specifically as follows:
Dr. Stephanie Newman
32 Wellington Rd.
Cheektowaga, NY
14225
Attention: David Pangborn
Lots of snow here - the most in a decade. And I doubt I will break my record from last year of golfing March 5th in 65 degree sunny weather! So everyone "Take 'er easy, eh!" as we say in the 51st State (ok, don't get me started on a political rant that will get me kicked out of Stamporama).
All the best to everyone, and thanks for your past support.
Dave.
