General Philatelic/Identify This? : Private Mail Stamp

I came across this interesting stamp while sorting through a large lot. I know that there quite a few 'private' mail businesses in Germany. The inscription at the bottom roughly translates as "Package Transportation". I appears that the value of 15 was hand-stamped. Does anyone have information that might indicate the company using this sort of stamp, or the period it was used?

I think it is a local stamp from Wiesbaden, Germany. I will try to find the special Michel catalogue for private stamps that I have somewhere in order to get more information. But that will be something for tomorrow :-)

I think Jansimon is on the right track. A great many German cities had private posts for city mail towards the end of the 19th century.

Here is what the Michel Spezial-Katalog Privatpostmarken has to say about the city mail in Wiesbaden:

Transport-Anstalt und Privat-Post
Gegründet von Alexander Ludwig im Jahre 1885. die Privat-Post wurde im Sept. 1886 eröffnet. A. Ludwig ließ durch höchstrichterliches Urteil vom 14. 11. 1887 für Preußen feststellen, daß den Privatpost-Anstalten die Führung der Bezeichnung „Post" in Zusammensetzung wie Privatpost o.ä. nicht verboten werden kann (Heft 3 der Schriftenreihe Privatpost: -Post und Privatpost"). Am 29.8.1889 ging die Anstalt auf Joseph Ringens über, am 6.1.1890 wurde Albert Kahleis, der älteste Briefträger der Anstalt, neuer Eigentümer. Geschlossen am 31.3.1900. Entschädigungsleistungen der Reichspost: Für Kahleis 30 638,77 Mark, von den 5 Boten wurden 3 übernommen, einer mit 2732,80 Mark abgefunden.


Translation:
Transport institution and private post office
Founded by Alexander Ludwig in 1885. The private post office was opened in September 1886. A. Ludwig had the highest court ruling of November 14, 1887 for Prussia determine that private post offices cannot be prohibited from using the name "Post" in combination with private post or similar (Volume 3 of the series of publications "Private Post Office: -Post and Private Post"). On August 29, 1889, the institution was transferred to Joseph Ringens, and on January 6, 1890, Albert Kahleis, the institution's oldest postman, became the new owner. Closed on March 31, 1900. Compensation payments from the Reichspost: 30,638.77 marks for Kahleis, 3 of the 5 messengers were taken on, one was compensated with 2,732.80 marks.

Yours is a poor copy of #9 (out of 107 in total)
