Pohjois Inkeri is Finnish for North Ingria or North Ingermanland, a part of Karelia in the North of Russia. It is (was?) an area inhabited mostly by Finnish people (immigrants mostly). After the Russian revolution the area separated from Bolshevik Russia, hoping to join Finland. This did not work out in the end and the area became Russian again. During that time some stamps were issued, like the ones you show.

I thank you both for clarifying my recent "box lot" find of stamps from North Ingermanland. Noting my maternal grandfather was born in Helsinki, Finland, you'd think I would have known about this area of the world. Since grandfather passed away when I was 5 years old, the subject never surfaced.
