The stamp that never was !! But it would have done the RAF a great service !!

That is a nice fantasy stamp! It reminds me of something I made myself years ago. I even have a letter with the printed stamp on it somewhere, I only hope I can find it in all the junk...

Interesting stamp, Jansimon. Surely not many other stamps depicting a Fokker G-1.
DonSellos
As far as I know: none. That is why I chose to make one myself.
More from the canny hand of Mr.King.
I have always wanted to visit Wonderland but never got to fall asleep under that certain tree........
Below another set of pairs with the 'Cracked Plate' variety together with normal.

Next we have a nice colourful lot of Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum on different coloured papers and with values changed. Don't they look sweet !!??

Nice 2 and 7 wink varieties of the Military Post in Wonderland. Depicts that Mad Hatter sipping his tea as usual. At least he has collected the mail !!
Yes, Gerald again .

A cross-gutter from a larger sheet of 16 stamps (4 blocks of 4).
The Mad Hatter stamp is devine !

More Fantasy with a Revenue slant !!
I wonder if Gordon would have approved ?

Couple of fantasy stamps from Great Britain......or not !!

From the fantasy Empire of Atlantium, somewhere in that fantasy city of Sydney, Australia.
Hang on a sec, Sydney is real, isn't it ??

A wannabee WWII item....alas, just a fantasy !

Fantasy SSGB stamps in the (approximate) definitive colours of the day !!

More wannabee wartime fantasies. The few trials that were printed have fallen into private hands !!

Very poor quality repros of the KGVI defins.
This might have made a fine Stamp Exhibition Souvenir Sheet. But alas, it is purely fantasy.

With Fantasy Stamps come Fantasy Books !
I wonder to whom Alice is posting a letter ?

Nice little group of Wonderland Chalons !! In blocks of 4 no less !

Wonderland was established in 1864 when Victoria was Queen and Philately was still a young hobby.
Here is a group of Wonderland issues from those halcyon days.

Did they play 'live' Chess in Wonderland ?!!
Alice looks a little frightened.
'Battle of the Seventh Square'

Some lovely Alice definitives issued in Winks and Slumbers. By no means complete but finding them, and then finding the money for them, is extremely difficult.

Not sure if these qualify as fantasy stamps, or maybe double fantasy, as they are issued by the Discworld folks which publish the Terry Pratchett fantasy books in the Discworld series.
These were given to me by a member of our local stamp club as he knows I'm a Pratchett fan.

Appropriate postage was paid by label on the envelopes.
I'm sure there are a lot more different designs of these to collect, but these are the ones I have at present.
I came across this while perusing Philangles upcoming auction.
Its a shame that they only show one page of each collection.

Not to be confused with Bogus stamps from Staffa, Fujeira or the like nor should they be grouped with local stamps that are of no use because no one lives there !
We all know what Fantasy stamps are though, don't we. Don't we ?
Back in 1965, an Alice fan was disappointed that there was to be no British Stamp commemorating the Centenary of Lewis Carroll's classic Children's Tale, Alice in Wonderland.
So Gerald King made his own. And he continued to make his own over many years, and not only Alice. Others too. And they are much sought after. Including by me.
I have just won this lot on eBay after a battle with 3 others. The seller is sending it to me here in Israel, my first item of mail since that fateful day in October when war broke out. I am taking a risk but I need to know if the post is working or not. I need to sell all those postage stamps I have left !!!!
When the Queen discovered the knaves had painted her roses red, she went berserk. If you have seen the Disney film from 1951 you will know how berserk she went.
So Mr. King, ever the humorist, had the idea to produce Se-tenant pairs both before and after she found out about the roses.
Classic fantasy. The stuff of Philatelic dreams !! Hang on, didn't Alice have a dream..........
