I've come to realize (for years now) stamps have stories behind them.

Agreeing with Phil. Seems the only time I look at my collection is when I find something new and thumb through to see if I already have it!
My US collection is in albums through 1976. The rest is in stock books and FDCs in 500 envelope boxes.. several of them.. all by date order. Sometimes I feel more like a file clerk than a collector!
To each his own. I love looking at mine. I just a few minutes, I’m going to spend an hour or so doing that.
When i am working on a particular area i enjoy where i am at...i do not pick out an album at random.
Seems like we are always in pursuit of a new item....but how often do we look at our existing collections ? I rarely do unless i know of a space that requires filling.
