I have just received an eBay purchase ,a Netherland Indies postcard .I purchased it for the post mark, it has a very large message covering all one side and half the address Side .
I'm wondering if David G's wife could translate it for me ?or anyone who can speak Indonesian?

Brian
It is in German, as far as I can see.
I already had a look at it but apart from it being written in old cursive handwriting (Suetterlin or at least a variety of it) is is not very clearly written. I could not make much of it.
Just as JanSimons said : HARD TO READ
and for sure in the german language
The address tells you more :
Wunstorf bei Hannover
Wunstorf is a medium-sized town and independent municipality in the Hanover Region of Lower Saxony, located on Lake Steinhude in the far north of the Calenberg region.
I had another look and it is still difficult to decipher, but I found out that the writer refers to the siege of Tsingtao (27 August - 7 November 1914). It seems to be about the events taking place in the far east, where the German army was taking a heavy beating. The writer says something like 'the fall of Tsingtao made me very sad, but it was just a matter of time'. The letter is dated 10 November 1914, so that's just after the fall.
