When was that? I do not think one can get a six pack for so little nowadays. And besides that, craft beer tastes better
Jansimon that would have been 1962..i am certain the craft beer tastes better but i was drinking for effect. I see i posted this in the wrong location..should have been non philatelic discussion.
I drink my standard Yuengling Pennsylvania Lager but friends we often imbide with drink either light beer (lake water) or boutique craft beers that taste like ear wax!
If any one goes on a tour to Turkey, consider your self warned no to drink the local beers!

As for “juice bomb” there is a strong trend these days at brew pubs and craft beer joints towards American IPAs, a lot of times hazy. For my tastes hazy is lazy and that stuff is swill. I prefer a good amber ale myself and would love to get it served at the proper temperature and in its proper size, an actual pint. There is a so-called British style pub in my area that claims they serve pints, but the glasses would not pass muster in the UK. They’re more like 12 oz.
But, when I was in college, we bought the cheapest beer possible, and in my Pittsburgh neighborhood at the time, Squirrel Hill, we bought “Old Wet Sockie” 16 oz six packs (Old Milwaukee to some) from the local deli. Previously we tried Old Vermin 16 oz bottles until we measured the contents at 12 ounces. Old German must have had a Pittsburgh discount at the time.
At this moment I’m drinking Old Bust Head English pale ale and it’s getting just about the right temp now and is quite tasty. A couple more and I’ll be ready to mishandle the stamps.
Cheers!
I don't know what brand it was, in Vietnam we would get beer in a steel can, it wasn't very good.

Mickeys Big Mouths
Pathmark Supermarket had their own No Frills Beer.. tasted like rusty water, gave me a headache!
And there was a bad brand that came in 64oz plastic soda bottles
American beer = sex on the beach (f***ing close to water)
Standard Australian joke
Bad beer - tastes about the same coming up and it did going down
BTW, Modelo has surpassed Bud Light in US beer revenue but Bud Light is still the number one selling beer.

Perhaps this is still true for the more common beers like the ones you mentioned (AB Inbev tries to get us to drink Bud here, but so far with limited success...), but most of the modern American craft beers are actually quite good. At least that is my opinion and as we all know, there is no accounting for taste
I was wondering when the big beer companies would feel it...every third old farm around here is now a "brewery".
Early 1960s Honolulu; PRIMO ''da KIne,'' $0.25 a can, The next day's headache, ... no charge.
My one son drinks only a "juice bomb" they dare to call beer..the other drinks $7.00 pints of "craft beer"...i was happy with an ice cold 6 pack of Pabst for 99 cents !
