Jopies Windmill club periodical arrived with a opened by homeland security tape. The club has been trying to get someone in the States to print and mail to U.S. members as the postage is 2.55 pounds. So far no takers !

Probably as a result of your sisters credit card purchases. They now have your number and are checking all your postings for seditious messages.

The item came from the UK.
There was no customs label. (There was room for one)
Therefore 50 - 50 chance it would be opened.

I thought my Nordfrim order was going to be missing some. It was hap-hazardly taped with packing tape which was loosely applied to an open cardboard envelope. Fortunately, all was still inside. Phew! I guess the tap was enough to keep it closed.
But NO evidence of CBSA or Revenue Canada inspection. Another PHEW!

I had one last week opened by UK Border Force. Why?
It came from the Netherlands, No Customs Label, No Senders Address, Stamps were contained in Hard Plastic!

Nearly every sending I receive from the Netherlands is opened by Border Force .I cannot for the life of me understand why.I know the country is a drug paradise (so they reckon)but Border Force have drug detection dogs checking the mail ,if they don't pick up anything why bother to open the mail??

i was told many years ago that Australian mail / customs specifically targets mail from Colombia and the Netherlands for extra inspection. Sniffer dogs can find quite a few, but the rate of success is not 100%. As a matter of fact, there seems to be a lot of discussion about the effectiveness. Perhaps that's why mail is opened.

My wife opened my mail once.

I get regular mail from Jan-Simon, Ian, as well as several other
overseas posters and cannot recall any having been opened for
inspection. Sometimes I have to use a small chainsaw to open
the packaging.
It must be my pure heart and soul.
