Although I can't help you with your request to contact "tommtomm"... I have never understood these forums that require you to make 50 posts before you can do anything (sell, purchase, etc.) on their board. This seems absurd to me. I couldn't come up with 50 relevant posts in a decade! Thank goodness SOR is above all that!
".... I have never understood these forums that require you to make 50 posts before you can do anything ...."
I agree and do not see the benefit to either members or potential members. If they required five or perhaps ten posts, maybe it might be reasonable, but to me that kind of requirement seems to be a sign of elitism. Obviously I would not have any real trouble hitting 50 or even 100 posts, but things like that just annoy me. Perhaps someone can explain the actual benefit or harm.
I think what forums that have these requirements are trying to ensure that people just aren't coming in and "taking advantage" and never contributing. I have heard that it is used in place of member fees. I like the idea but agree with Charlie that the bar should be lowered.
On the other hand you get in a lot less trouble if you remain quiet.

A reasonable meme, but, ... that never worked
that well for me. My motto was, and remains;

get ahead of the crowd."
Being 6'2½" in a 5'9" world, it has an obvious choice.
But;
"Different spokes for different yokes."
There is a post to trade perfins from a user tommtomm but to reply to him I need 50 posts there. Is there a member here who might be able to contact him for me? Any help would be appreciated. I am trying to gather up a set of type perfins from Cuba and his note says he has lots of worldwide to trade.
thanks
Bob
