they did it for one year and discontinued it; i'm thinking 2009, but not sure
Yes, Scott 2009. I have a copy of that year.
Thank you very much both of you. I will try and track a copy down if I can.
I purchased some of the "e-catalogues" that Scott published, and regretted it. They were expensive and darn near unusable. I even called Scott and talked with editor. I don't recall the conversation in detail, but I do recall that he admitted that it was a challenging project.

They still sell them. I have the 2017 catalogs.

I have a cdrom of the Scott Catalog copyright 2006.
I recall Scott's came out with an iOS app. Great I thought, so I downloaded it and bought a catalogue. After using it for a few minutes, I found many issues with it. I sent them an email with all the problems, and they replied quickly stating they are working on an update and thanks for the info. As it was, it was unusable to me. Thankfully I was refunded the $40 I paid for their catalogue.
They NEVER updated the app.
Stanley Gibbons also have iOS app's which again, are useless to me.
Why can't these companies get with the times and produce a decent app?
Peter
Amos Media likely does not have any inhouse talent to design and maintain they app. My guess they contracted the work out and they did not want to pay to maintain it (fix bugs) because sales were not very high.
Thank you so much for all the additional replies. Once again I appreciate how willing and happy this group is to share their information and knowledge. Its been most helpful indeed.
I will add that Scott released a stamp inventory program a long time ago that was developed by a third party. They stopped selling it after a couple years.
Scott stopped making the catalogs on CD a long time ago but people sell pirated scanned versions of later catalogs on ebay and elsewhere.
The latest of these pirated copies I have seen is just a set of pdf's based on scans. It works but you miss out on a lot of the benefits such as searching for specific words.
Instead of catalogues, I buy individual country pages from that retired chiropractor. I scan the pages, and OCR them. Amazing how some words come out perfect, while quite a few are a jumble of letters and punctuation! Some I can highlight to copy, some I highlight only to get half the pages' text selected!
Why can't Scott move into the 21st century?
Does anybody know if the Scott Catalogs come in electronic format at all? Such as computer CD, USB thumb drive, computer DVD, etc. I cannot seem to find a definitive answer online. I would like a set of the Scott catalogs but am not sure I can give over the space required to all of them. I thought an electronic version would fit the bill but have no idea if they exist, and if they do where to lay my hands on one.
Thanks in advance for any replies and advice!
