I will have to check if I have a Michel for Japanese occupation of Netherlands Indies, or perhaps Sakura (but my copy is almost 20 years old...) It is a fact that SG always is at the high end and Scott mostly at the low end of the price range.
Brian, I have French Yvert catalogue, if you post the images of the two stamps, we can see what it says.
When I first started here I used Gibbons "values" but I discovered that Scotts "values" were on average "lower".
Basically if Gibbons said the value was £10 Scotts said it was $10. If exchange rates were applied the Scotts value should have been $13.80.
Some differences are larger eg Gibbons £110 Scotts $2.50.
I managed to accquire a set of discs for Scotts 2017 which I now use. Unfortunately for some items Scott's only values a complete set rather than the individual stamps within the set (a complete nightmare at times)so I revert to Gibbons but replace their value of say £10 to $10.
With Gibbons Stamp of the World catalogue the value for a particular stamp maybe the most expensive variety rather than the most common. Look at most of the early range of stamps and you will see that the SG numbers are not in order. (Portugal Ceres range is a classical example). This may explain the variation that Snowy12 has come across.
Am I correct in thinking that Gibbons sells stamps while Scott doesn't? Could explain the difference if I am.
Yes Gibbons sells stamps. I do not know if Scotts do.

I also have a set of discs mine are 2019 and like you I find it very annoying that , Scott's tend to give prices for sets and not individual stamps as sometimes a middle stamp in a set has a higher CV than the rest of the set .
I think I may have to buy in the US and sell in the UK LOL
Brian
If I buy against an SG catalogue value, I sell using a percentage of the same SG value. If I buy against Scott, Michel, Sassone, Y&T, Zumstein or any other catalogue, I sell using a percentage of that CV. Of course, that means that I have FAR too many catalogues on my shelves!

Brian, I am very confused, I have scrolled the Japanese part & Netherland Antilles on standard Yvert catalogue without success to find the stamp and have indication. I also checked on colconect without success, may be it is on specialized catalogue. Apologies to cannot help.

You never have too many catalogs or stamps,
for that matter. Girlfriends, especially
wild ones, you can have too many.
