Airmail cancel: " first flight in regular DC3 service / Indies - Netherlands"
By the way, only the stamps have to do with the Salvation Army ("Leger des Heils"). The cover is a first flight cover.
In the upper left corner it says "reduced rate to the Netherlands, 20 cents per 10 grams"
In the middle (over the silhouette of the DC3): "the joyful Indies"
And in the frame on the left fragments from the poem "Ik sloot de blinkevenstren" by P.C. Boutens, a poet whose often somewhat pompous verses are now largely forgotten. He lives on because many Dutch cities have streets named after him.

I missed that one. You're right.
The cover was specially designed for the two stamps that were put in the boxes. Salvation Army charity stamps in the benefit of the Neth.Indian child. All the previous remarks remain valid though.
When i saw this thread i pulled some of my Netherlands Indies covers and postcards to view. They have been dormant for a while but i was fortunate to pick up some good ones.
Ooops...heres a little info on the early flights !
