Finished this one a few weeks ago it's on another thread somewhere. I use William Steiner
pages for a lot of my collections.
Finishing a page is something I have not experienced yet, as I am a newbie to stamp collecting, but it is quite impressive!
Nice collections.

Finally received the needed stamp (US Scott #315) to complete a page. Really wanted used, but a little out of my reach. Notice that the 314a is missing, but I do have a place for it when it becomes available. Yes, the 315 comes with a PF cert.
mbo1142,
What is the PF cert number for your #315?
Don
Don,
The cert number is 145819
I found it on the PF web site, but any information you can provide regarding this stamp would be appreciated.
Thanks, Mel
Nice page Mel.
Mel,
Thanks. As you know, the #315 is one of the most faked/altered stamps so I am typically suspect. (Do not put it past unethical people to look up a cert and then trim and perforated stamp to match the cert. Did the original hard copy cert come with the stamp? I hope so.)
I am a bit concerned about what appears to be a guide line along the top of your stamp but it is hard to see in your image. Is this line on the stamp or am I seeing things? While the presence of a line on a #315 is ok, I do not see one in the cert image.
Don
Don,
Thanks for your response. I also noticed what looked like a guide line in my post, but there is no guideline. It is the way the stamp was laying in the scanner.
I do have the original hard copy cert with the photo that is embossed on the paper. Cert dated 4/11/85.
My one worry is, after reading the comments on stamp smarter regarding the 315 that indicates, to be genuine, the stamp must measure 21 1/2 X 25 mm or more. My stamp measures just a quarter of a mm under that all the way around. Should I be concerned?
Thanks, Mel
Hi Mel,
Thanks.
On the 'up side'...
It is good that the line is not there. it is good that you have the original cert.
Possible concerns...
The cert is old and certs do indeed have a 'shelf life' (new information comes to light and/or new technologies are used).
Smaller margin stamp do sometimes get certified; often these are stamps known to be from previous pairs but are cut apart. If you resubmitted this stamp it may or may not get a clean one now.
If it were my stamp, I would mount it and call it good. If I were selling it, I would consider a new cert before selling.
Don
Don,
Again thanks for your input. I waited a long time to find the right stamp w/cert for the right price. I do not plan to sell so it is a "good" stamp and looks good in my album.
Now to find a good 314a to fill in that last empty space.
Being a worldwide collector I have lots of "holes" in my albums looking for stamps to fill them in. So its always nice to complete a page even if the stamp values aren't that high.
So I thought I would start a thread for folks to show off their recently completed album pages. I use Steiner pages for almost all my collection, nothing fancy, so please feel free to add your "completes" as they occur.
Best of all I got the missing 1970 15 "Rule of Law" to fill out the page out of SOR's own approval pages !
