The zero stamp was meant as a present from the postal service to the Dutch people. Every household received one in the mail as part of a booklet about the introduction of the company on the stock market. On that day you could use this stamp to mail a card or letter for free. It is the trick to have this stamp on cover cancelled on the right day.

Thankyou for the info..That is interesting...Hope to find one someday......Hint ! Hint!
I should have known this a little earlier. I saw one yesterday in the auction at the local stamp club. Part of a bigger lot that sold cheap but I wasn't interested at that time
Please think of me if
ever you see one...Cheryl
After checking out the articles on the 2013 Orapex site I am seeking more info on two different type of stamps
The 1998 zero stamp of the Netherlands and also their stamps you can colour from the year 1999/2000
plus I believe the Netherlands also produced a stamp that was similar to a book with actual pages but not sure of the year. Interesting but I know very little about these stamps
