About 30 minutes into the movie a 3 cent stamp was glued to a silver dollar and used as a target, in Dodge City on 4 July 1874!

Now then I think they used the wrong stamp from the 1890's, either IN # A62 or IN #A89, who can confirm this?

You must have watched that movie on TMC yesterday. So did I, but I have no idea what stamp that was. Also, it the most unbelievable part of that movie, shooting a hole in a postage stamp, let alone throwing a stamp up in the air to be shot. Good movie.

Here’s a trivia question for you, not stamp related. What famous semi-uncredited (if that’s a thing) actor played a role as cavalry grunt in Winchester ‘73 that also dressed in drag in a later movie starring a blonde bombshell and also staring a Felix Unger portrayer?

Yeah, it was Tony Curtis. I thought that was kind of crazy as he had a bit part and I didn’t see his name in the credits. But I guess every actor starts out somewhere.

Of course the other movie, with the blond bombshell, Marilyn Monroe, was Some Like it Hot, where Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon dress in drag to escape mobsters, and then Jack kind of starts to like it. Another great movie. And of course Jack Lemmon was Felix Unger in the Odd Couple. Funny, as both are plays and Some Like it Hot is now on Broadway (the wife and her high school reunion buddies just saw it).

Sorry for the non-philatelic excursion through Hollywood.
