1. Open to Everyone
Anyone may read messages posted on the Stamporama Discussion Board. Membership in Stamporama is a requirement to post messages.
2. NO Advertising!
This message board is for discussion purposes. Commercial ads are prohibited and will be deleted as soon as seen by a moderator, so you would be wasting your time posting. If you want to promote your business or website, you may do so discretely using a personal statement under your avatar or in your message footer as part of your posts. Our policy in summation: "Contribute and be discrete, and you are welcome. Dump your advertising on us and you are welcome to leave".
3. Choosing a Discussion Title and a Fitting Topic/Sub-Topic
Please choose a descriptive title for new discussions you start whenever possible. An informative subject line stating the main key words is not only a courtesy to other members, who wish to know what the discussion is about, but also ensures that discussions can be readily located in the future using our search function. Similarly, please post new discussion in the best fitting sub-topic category so that information is more readily accessible in the future. Example: Do not post a discussion named "Are these legit?" in "General Philatelic Discussions," instead start the same discussion descriptively titled "Germany: Need help identifying inflation era cancellations" in the German area section of the discussion board.
The Board is for the purpose of discussion of philately and issues related to Stamporama. Off topic postings are allowed in the "Off Topic and Relaxation" topic.
Our moderators may change titles for clarity and move discussion topics to better fitting categories.
4. Other Do's and Don'ts
This is a family oriented, moderated discussion board. Abusive or otherwise inappropriate postings are not tolerated and will be immediately deleted by a moderator. The purpose of the discussion board is to facilitate interaction between our members. Because the discussion board can be read by non-members, members should not include their contact information and/or email address in their posting. Any member interested in contacting a member privately should retrieve the other member's contact information from the member section of the website, or use the Stamporama personal message system. Members have the option to receive email notifications about any new postings. Please do not "spam" other members' email notifications by conducting private communications on the discussion board. Specifically, do not work out the details of a trade in public view. Instead, contact the member by email or use the Stamporama message system.
