Hello JanSimon,
My Dutch Catalog is from 2013 and there was number 11 priced as -.- (Price unknown)
Nr 12 was priced at 17500,- euro's.
So the NVPH has now valued the number 11 with a real price.
Wow !
today I upgraded my specialised Netherlands catalogue (NVPH) from the 2002 edition to the 2017 edition. Still not entirely up to date, but good enough for me. While going through this new acquisition I noted some extraordinary prices for mint never hinged classic stamps (#1 to 49). Some of those prices are completely over the top, or at least so it seems. The catalogue does state that these mnh should preferably be with a certificate, but even then... #11 (25 cents dark violet, 3rd King William III series) is listed MNH at € 125000! And that is unlikely to be a typo, because most of the other early ones are well over 1,000. To put this in perspective, the same stamp MNH was € 2800 in 2002, so this one became 44 times more expensive in just 15 years.
I wonder how realistic this is. Is there anyone here into MNH Netherlands who can shed some light on this?
Jan-Simon
