re: Canada Post does not like to postmark packages !

I received a commercial invoice at work yesterday that went from Canada to the USA in a normal #10 size envelope that should have easily been machine processed, yet the stamp was uncanceled. I was disappointed as it is very rare for me to get stamped commercial mail at all at work, and when I do they are almost always common USA definitives.

Well I just received notice from a collector that an envelope I had sent him was processed 5 times The envelope was literally folded in half and ready to break/tear when he received it. I
m thinking it was either stuck in a machine or the worker didn
t really want to be there.Sad

It is not just Canada, it is a worldwide phenomenon!

I recently received Christmas cards from Canada, US, UK, Ireland and New Zealand, all with stamps UNCANCELLED. Sad

Actually, I guess you could say that you were fortunate because they didn't use a monkey marker or a ball point pen to cancel them.

Canada Post doesn't seem to care either and twice now we were given a form to fill out complaining about these pen markings etc on stamps. That was almost half a year ago and nothing was done.

In the long run, I would rather have them come to me un-cancelled.

My opinion of course Happy

I am guessing that fully 50% of my mail domestic and foreign arrives uncancelled.

This summer I traveled quite a bit. At home I had an envelope that one of my son's had sent me from Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. It arrived in Florida free of any trace of cancellation.
So I slit the far end, removed the letter and inserted a more or less blank sheet of paper. I then carefully put a strip of Scotch tape on the end so it could be folded over that end resealing where I had made my incision.
While visiting Eddie in July, I put it back in the mail stream and a week later while chatting with my wife learned that that envelope had arrived in Florida again, sans cancellation.
Eva was preparing an envelope to send me with some other incoming mail so she put the envelope in the box with the other items.
Once it arrived, I could have taken it to a post office for a hand cancel, but by then had become curious. So when my son took me to the local post office I just handed it across the counter along with some other letters and the typical vacation post cards from Hawaii.
The cover is now here in Florida, again, and while the envelope and stamp show the scuff marks and creases that sure imply it went through some mail equipment, there is still no cancellation.
The envelope has traveled about 38,000 miles, 30,000 in the tender hands of USPS, and nothing to prove it ever left Hawaii in the first place.
