Thanks for looking that up.
Does that mean they were bought in sheets from the post office and perforated by the user?
Early Czechoslovakia stamps abound in all sorts of configurations. There is so much printer's waste and other anomolies around. Remember that this is a country created out of several different languages and born in the aftermath of war. So, expect all sorts of oddities, most of which goes for a song.
And remember when Gibbons or another catalog publisher uses the word "Simplified" in the title "Stanley Gibbons 2013 Simplified," it has a distinct implication.
The publisher has skipped many minor variations, usually to appeal to a wider audience of collectors and probably to save half a forest.
The last time I saw an estimate it indicated that there were about, or nearly, 700,000 postage stamps, more than 80% of which are of minimal or nearly minimal value, thus easily within the reach of the stamper of average wealth.
Yet, I suspect few collectors, even few worldwide postally used collectors will acquire much in excess of 100,000 examples.
It does pay for the average collector to latch on to the various specialized catalogs that tabulate the stamps of areas of interest in great detail, even when those catalogs are a few years old..
I should echo Charlie's comments and, for anyone interested in Czechoslovakia, there is a Czech society with specialized quarterly journal that will delve deep into their early issues; and there are a number of good Czech auction houses with specialized material whose breadth is shattering. I believe I have since pitched these, but they are great resource material, even for the cursory collector, just to see how much is out there that no catalogue could ever begin to touch.

Here is a link to a simple summary on the aspects of the Hradcany issues. I collected used Hradcany only.

In the scan from Stanley Gibbons 2013 simplified, Czechoslovakia 1918 Hradcany 3h only includes the imperf variety. However, when I did an internet search to find images for this issue, I came across a perf variety.

Am I missing something, or is the catalogue incorrect? Or is the 3h perf stamp a fake?
