Hi John;
I see you have very recently joined. A warm welcome to you, and here's hoping you celebrate many more birthdays on here. I just joined myself in June or July of this Summer.
I seem to favor the approval sheets, and think they are less work than auctions. Some buyers frown on cheaper stamps in the auctions. If I have more than three copies of the same stamp, my plan is to list some in approvals by country, and some in approvals by topic. This way everyone gets a chance at my offering, no matter how they collect.
I'm currently sorting thru about 150,000 mostly world-wide stamps. About 17,000 are US and the rest mixed world-wide. About 10-30% end up in my albums. I have 7 volumes of Scott big blue, and 26 volumes of Scott Green Specialty albums.
I did a test sale of just two books of approvals, a small one of Great Britain, and a large one of US. The British didn't do so well but had little variety, and the US sold almost 40%, in two months, and had 6 or 7 different buyers.
Hope you enjoy your membership.
Keep on stampin'

Whatever you decide to do, make sure that you're having fun! After all, this is a hobby. If one process seems tedious, try another. Small lots of stamps at a good price sell better than single stamps in the auction. Everyone loves a bargain.
Welcome to the group!
I have accumulated stamps since I was 7, and just celebrated my 70th.
Every stamp that came into my house, business etc was soaked and stored.
Over the past year I have started to sort them - now all are into countries. I am up to Germany with no duplicates and each country stored in stockbooks.
Obviously I have a lot of duplicates for swap and/or sale.
My question is what is the most successful way of presenting my duplicates.
Should I sort them thematically, by individual country with each stamp different, by kiloware by country or kiloware by worldwide.
What would members prefer to purchase and or swap?
I have already swapped stuff with two members successfully.
Regards to you all.
