The APS Stamps Teach Plus program for grades 3 to 5 has almost 500 teachers enrolled in the program, representing more than 14,000 students.

The program provides teachers of grades 3 to 5 with lesson plans, work sheets, task cards, posters & stamps to support their curricula. Also included in free membership to Young Stamp Collectors of America for each of their students (lesson plans only are available for teachers of other grades).

The success of the Stamps Teach Plus program has resulted in APS running out of stamps to provide; consequently, they are seeking donations of stamps to help continue the program.

Off paper stamps are preferred as more can fit in a flat rate priority box but stamps on paper are also welcomed. Also, assortments of stamps are preferred to bulk gifts of single stamps.

Any excess stamps you have and are willing to donate may be sent to:

American Philatelic Society
Stamps Teach
100 Match Factory Place
Bellefonte, PA 16823

APS asks that you include your name and address on the outside of the package and on an enclosed note so that they may provide a written aknowledgement, which may be used for tax purposes by U.S. taxpayers.

Thanks for your consideration.

re: The Stamps Teach Plus Program Needs Stamps!

It's so much fun to hear about kids still being involved in philately at some level. Kudos to all those creative teachers who are clever enough to use stamps as springboards to learning!

The potential for kids to learn from the wonderfully diverse images on stamps continues to be realized by those who are learning lessons of tolerance, acceptance, and diversity from their involvement with the Holocaust Stamps Project in Foxboro, Massachusetts.

Thanks to the generosity of donors from across the country and several foreign nations, since this Community Service Learning activity began in 2009, more than 4.3 MILLION stamps have been collected towards the goal of 11,000,000 to honor each of the victims of the Holocaust.

Lots of info, photos, and links to media coverage can be found on the Holocaust Stamps Project website.

MANY THANKS to the generous SOR members who have been so supportive of this important educational initiative. You know who you areWave
