Also Buyers, please click when you RECEIVE the stamps.
This is the only way I know I can close the order!

The notices we receive from Stamporama that show an invoice as being paid (once a buyer marks the invoice as being paid)are almost useless to the seller. They do, however show the invoice # and a seller can refer back to their list of invoices to see who the buyer was.
I believe once upon a time, before email servers started blocking emails from Stamporama that the sellers name showed on these notices.

Theresa - No there is no way for a seller to make a notation that payment of an invoice has been received.
Assuming that you as a seller are waiting until you receive payment, the notation you make saying the order has been shipped supposedly informs the buyer that you have received payment.
However, saying that, not all of us wait until a payment is in our hands before shipping. Once a buyer informs me that payment is in the mail, I usually mail their order. Otherwise, unfortunately, it is weeks before they receive their stamps due to slow mail service.

You are exactly right, Liz - I've started doing the same thing. For folks I know, I like to ship as soon as I have them ready to go. But it means you can't use "shipped" as a flag for paid. Thanks for the advice!

The link that the buyer clicks should not allege the bill has been paid. It should indicate that the payment has been sent.
Because of the exceptional level of honesty exhibited by members who are often closer to friends than customers, however that blends into the transaction, quite a few sellers do send the items bought upon receiving word that the invoice has been "paid."
Payment sent is one thing.
Payment received, especially when the speed that an envelope travels at as it crosses the US northern border, is often several weeks later and qualifies as a "horse of a different color.".
I prefer cash payments for small purchases and checks, personal or bank certified, for amounts that exceed $30 or $40. That means that the payment's status is still in Limbo until a paper check clears the account.
Two recommendations;
Change the buyer's wording from "paid" to "sent."
Add something the seller can click to indicate that the payment is received or, if a check, the check has cleared the banking system.

Is there any way for a seller to make a notation on the invoice lists that payment has been received? It would make it MUCH easier to keep track of all the invoices if that were possible.
And buyers, don't forget to click and note your payment. I don't know of a way that sellers can currently do that for you. That click can also speed up shipment of your purchases as many sellers probably do what I do and check the invoicing list to see when it is time to ship. That is much simpler than trying to compare information from one's email account to SOR records.
Thanks in advance!
