Hi Kelly;
I can do .jpg files very easily, however one software I use is Open Office v1.1.5 from Sun Microsystems (word processor). Is that something you can open and use?
I would like to do articles on stamp identification if I can find the time.
Thanks in advance
Ken
Absolutely. I can convert pretty much anything on my computer. That would be awesome Ken!
Hey there everyone,
I'd like to make a request for articles for upcoming editions of the Rambler. My recruiting partner is currently not able to assist in this. He has done a fantastic job in the past and I'm extremely grateful to him.
As you've seen the Rambler has expanded. Your articles may include up to 3 pages each. If you have more, it will be split between two editions.
Articles can be of any Philatelic topic.
Ideas for articles:
If you have created an exhibit for a show, please feel free to send it to me via email. You can message me through the SOR discussion board for my personal email address.
A page or more from any of your albums that include some type of write-up is perfect and easy.
A write-up on any topic discussed on the discussion board - please cite any member comments you use.
Information about individual stamps - including Revenues and Seals.
Experiences from your local stamp club or stamp show.
Write-ups on your favourite stamp or information on a topical collection.
Write-ups on paper types or printing methods.
Your personal experience collecting stamps and/or Philatelic material.
Your favourite collection - why you've chosen it or what motivates you?
Your personal experience with the Approvals and/or Auctions as a buyer/seller.
Enlighten your fellow members on your favourite way of acquiring stamps - i.e. stamp shows, online purchases outside of SOR, trading partner - boxlots, want lists, etc.
Your preference of arranging your collection and why you choose that method.
Etc.
Your submission(s) may be sent in pdf, text, Word or Open Office. Please include any related jpgs embedded within your text as well as separate jpgs. If you wish to send an article that would require more than 3 pages, including jpgs formatted to the Rambler template, please note where you wish the article to be divided to be continued in the next edition.
The sky is the limit on what you can contribute and I know that each individual here at Stamporama has the ability to provide at least one of the above. Please fill my inbox with your interest in providing any of the above topics or anything else you may think of. Do not worry about spelling or grammatical errors, they will be fixed as the Rambler is being created.
Remember - EACH ONE OF YOU has the ability to provide ANY article from these topics and many more.
Let's work together to create fantastic editions of The Rambler Rides Again. This is YOUR newsletter
Do not be afraid to submit questions, even those that have been answered on the discussion board. Unfortunately we don't have the ability to review EVERY thread on the discussion board to create an excellent article. This is true for both. Discussions related to covers. The discussion board is full of awesome covers and the information provided in answering question about a cover make excellent articles.
Please remember that The Rambler is a newsletter provide BY SOR members FOR SOR members. Let's make it awesome for every member. Even if you have never posted to the discussion board, you possess an awesome amount of philatelic information. Please feel free to submit it. If you choose not to have your name on the article, simply write "Anonymous" or "Anonymous Author, do not fear, Your identity still remain private.
Each one of the 2,000+ MEG members have something they can contribute, even if it only one paragraph and a stamp or cover.
All the best to each of you!
