According to Scott Catalogue this stamp is variety A7 & I think is Scott #17. But the book describes it as green and yet mine is clearly blue. Could this change of color be because of age or have i identified it incorrectly.

The 1 shilling blue is a revenue, not postage, stamp. The 1 shilling green is postage. See here
