Hello,

When I uploaded my 1st book. I have got the below note

1: Page Counts shown in the format "3/2" indicate that there are 3 active pages and 2 inactive pages in the Book.

I checked all the pages of the book but nothing wrong. How can I resolve this matter?

Many thanks
Foudutibre

re: note on book (page 1)

When I look at the books you activated, I don't see any skipped page. But as you put together a book, it is easy to have a misstep, like forgetting to put the count of the number of items on the page, the price, activating the scan..etc.
If you hit the save and go to the next page, it will, but the page you started on, that is not considered complete for the computer, will not be activated. Check your sequence and you may see it.

When you skip a page, you can go back to it, delete it, and restart. Remember when you do that, that the Remark footnote which is carried over to the next page may now appear as blank. So you may need to copy it from a previous page and paste it ( Bottom of the page, Remarks). Also check you page sequence. I note the page number on my pages, just for this reason, not for the benefit of the buyer, since Approvals indicates the page number clearly on each page.

Hope this helps. By the way, we now have much improved capabilities to alter page sequence, numbers etc.. Note that you can add items to a page but NOT subtract them. So if you indicated 20 items and found out that you only had 17, you will need to disable the last 3..you cannot delete them.
On the other hand, if you have 25, you can easily add the additional items to a page.

re: note on book (page 1)

Hello friends,

As I am new, I would like to know if we have to update the same book already created with new pages or is it possible to create a new one that has the same name as the previous one.

many thanks

I am quite sure you can create a second book with a further numerical designation.
And I believe you can add pages to the existing books. But since I have never bothered to list approvals, someone else can certify the procedure.

re: note on book (page 1)

Hi foudutimbre;

You can have a maximum of 24 pages in approval books. The system will then display this notice near the top of the edit approval book page:

The Book has reached the Max Page Limit of 24

If you want to add pages to an existing book with less than 24 pages, follow these steps; click on "edit/view books" under the "Sellers" drop down menu, which will take you to a list of all your books. Click on the book you want to add pages to. At the bottom of the next page click the "Add a Page" button.

It is probably better to add pages to an existing book, than to create more books. Generally buyers would probably want a nice full book with hundreds of stamps. Then they can choose many stamps more easily and more quickly. Browsing for stamps is very time consuming, and the easier it is for a buyer, the more likely he is to return, for a second purchase.

You can't delete a page if any stamps on that page are sold, but if a book is mostly sold out, delete the book, and re-bundle the remainders into a new book.

The only rules to remember are only 24 pages per book. All stamps on a page must be the same price. However each page within a single book, could have a different price for each page. So you can have common stamps in the same book as much higher catalog value stamps. A good design would be the least expensive stamps in front pages of book, and most expensive stamps in the last pages.

Pay particular attention to get your book in the correct category or buyers will have a difficult time finding what you are offering for sale. I see this problem on other websites all the time with items in the wrong place.

Good luck with your sales

re: note on book (page 1)

Hi Ken,
Thank you very much for your advice, I'll follow. I understand that we cannot delete pages from a boon, however how to do ?
I have a book with 9 pages including 7 pages already sold out and the other 2 pages mostly of the stamps sold. I just scan 16 pages, how should I do to cruch the pages sold entirely and replace them with new ones, in order to have a full book of 24 pages.

re: note on book (page 1)

My suggestion is to retire the book. Then issue a new one.
If you plan to issue a full book of 24 pages, my advice to you is to avoid having too many of the same stamp. I think 3 is a maximum... Or it becomes boring. I have been more inclined to just put 2 of each to avoid too much repetition. A book between 12-24 pages is a good ressource, that should stay active for a while. I noticed that after the fist rush of activity, when you issue a book, then sales slow, but every so often an old book gets visited with a lot of sales. People will get active on their collections at different times, and it is nice for them to have access of a library of books to fill in the multiple slots they may have.. Especially for the lower cost stamps. That's the whole idea with Approvals.

re: note on book (page 1)

Hi foudutimbre;

I'll walk you thru the process of retiring an old, mostly sold out book.

1) On the SoR home page click on "Approvals"

2) On the "Stamporama Approvals" page click on the "Sellers" drop-down menu, then click on "Edit/View Books".

3) On the "My Book List" page click on the title or name of your book.

4) The next screen is titled "Edit a Book", scroll to the bottom and click on "Delete Book" the very last button in the row.

5) Then take all remaining stamps and add them to your new book, as an extra page.

As rrraphy states it is probably too boring to have too many of the same stamp. I usually include no more than three, and I try to select somewhat different cancels so the buyer can choose which cancellation they prefer. The only exception to this method I use, is if the stamps are fancy cancels or town cancels, that I think specialists would like.

If you have further questions, don't hesitate to ask someone. We are all here to help.

Happy selling
