Does anyone have the latest statistic on number of right side up Jenny sheets that have been officially announced as found? As you know, the USPS printed up only 100 and "hid" them all around the country.
Do your local post offices still have Jenny sheets?
How many have you bought? I have bought three of the packaged up sheets. I tried to buy one in the tiny town of Grand Marais but a local collector bought all the post mistress had ordered, and she was reluctant to order more.

18 have been reported as found. I still hold that more lie in collectors' albums. How many, I don't know.
This past Tuesday I took a spin through local towns. The small towns are sold out of the sheets, or have only a few. The larger towns, some are sold out, one I found still had 60 of them. My post office reordered the sheets and received only 20. Original bundles of the sheets contain 25 sheets.

The information about the re-order was interesting since it would appear that the supply is dwindling if a full order was not sent out to your post office.

PS: I think your theory may be sound: Some collectors have them already and do not know it. I'm still running into to people who had no idea that 100 were purposely made "special."

In the urban area I reside in, there are three post office locations in the city limits, and I have never had problems finding an Inverted Jenny sheet in either. The minimum rate for any parcel is $2.38, and I use one of these stamps on it. I must have cleaned up about six such sheets on postage, and buy new if and when my existing stock (1 sheet) runs out.
I have no love for these stamps - which I consider a blatant attempt by USPS to pander to collectors - and they don't find a place in my collection.

I have a friend who told me that he bought a sheet, but hasn't opened the package yet. He doesn't collect stamps, and he says that he may never open the package. He bought it because of the plane topic.

In my little corner of one small sliver of the Los Angeles metropolitan area, I was never able to find them in post offices. This was about 4-5 months ago, and I checked in perhaps 6-8 post offices, including a big regional processing and distribution center.
Edited to add:
I just did not think it was worth the gas to keep driving around looking for them, so I ended up ordering a few from Kansas City.

Today, the clerk at a Grand Rapids substation tried to sell me some Jenny sheets. She said she still had quite a few, so why wouldn't I take a few off her hands, she asked in a friendly manner with a hint of a smile. She held a small stack of about 20 and said she had more.
