I've gotta figure out how to give my post office my phone number (just kidding). That is a great story, thanks for sharing.
Lee,
You've got the luck o' the Irish! Good for you!

Good job on getting a Tim Horton's card for gentleman, eh?

Nicely done Lee.

.....reminds me of a story. Back when the muscle car stamps came out I made a trip to my post office. Julie at the counter said as I was in line. "Hey, Pat I saved some stamps for you. For some reason we did not get many of these and you have not been in for a couple weeks so I set them aside. It is our last sheet." Well,I don't collect new issues but I do buy commemoratives for my office mail. Everyone at my small post office knows I am a stamp collector and I think they just assume that means the new issues as well. Well another guy in line says "I am a stamp collector, I missed those". I told Julie to sell them to him. I got to talking to the guy and told him about the clubs I was aware of in the area. He seemed very interested. I hope he made it to a meeting or joined a club. I have not seen or heard from him since.
Very Nice
Just before we were leaving on our vacation here today, one of my kids found an envelope of stamps from Jim (in his car). It was dated Dec 20, 2012. Pleasant surprise it was.
Or the usual way to a mans heart is through his stomach.
In Lee's case perhaps stamps will do
I got a very nice phone call this morning from one of the ladies at the local post office, a local business man had brought in a plastic grocery bag full of Canada stamps, trimmed neatly from envelopes, all from the last couple of years and wanted to know if there was any collectors around who could use them. she thought of me and told him yes, Phoned me up and asked if I wanted them and of course I said yes and just got home from picking them up.
Going to be spending the afternoon soaking a pound or so of Canada stamps
But I did make a quick trip to Tim Hortons and picked up a gift card and asked the post office to put it in his postal box.
