I'm sure there are collector's out there that would love to have those stamps, even in the condition they're in now. I sell a lot of damaged stamps, at greatly reduced prices, because I know someone could use them just to fill an empty hole in their album. I even have a couple similar sitting in my albums, just waiting for a nice replacement at a decent price.

Thanks Mike - I appreciate the input.
I'm trying to figure out in this album what is worth keeping and what I should part with. It's hard when you come across an album like this. When you think about the fact that it was given to the man by his wife brand new Christmas 1933 and you wonder how hard it was for him to acquire stamps in any condition that are of higher value, it's tough.
I'm going to have to go through it and see. Funny, it's a worldwide album and yet only about 1.5" thick! LOL Some minimum values and some that I'm sure were lower values at the time that have increased. The last stamps in there (loose on pieces) are 1940 Hitler stamps (3 of them). Perhaps the fellow passed on after this because there are some "unfinished" additional stamps placed in with the country.

Hi Kelly,
You might fine that there is more interest for these stamps from cancel collectors. The 5sh looks like it is from Hobart. Ever since the article in the APS Mag, there has been considerable interest in collecting cancels from Tasmania. Also, the cancels from Mittagong would be if interest to some.

The cancels for sure are great. I have an album that I have nothing but good Australian cancels. The stamps may not be in the best condition, but that doesn't matter. I love them anyhow.

I think maybe I should stop reading all these interesting threads -- I keep wanting to drop what I'm working on and go tackle that box/stock book of stamps and do the same thing...I may be incurable.

A very rare 1931 £2 Black and Rose map and kangaroo issue. C of A watermark (abbreviated for Commonwealth of Australia) in mint unhinged condition and well centred.

I've recently acquired a Strand 1933 Album that includes the following Kangaroos. The album is in mixed condition as you can see from the picture. My question is regarding the damage to the 1sh and 5sh - would these still be of interest to individuals who collect Kangaroos re: cv?
