I always find a learn from the observations of other people.
I'm sure there's more than one person here who is interested!

Yes, that would be great! For those who don't know what he does, Michael systematically goes through every country that he collects (which is, I estimate, about 95% or more of all Scott listed countries) and notes the value changes of stamps within his collection for that country. True, it is a biased sample reflecting only his collecting interests but these interests are broad and he is one of the few true worldwide collectors I know.
I'd like it if you also instituted the request for folks NOT to reply within that listing post but to do so on a separate post, so the continuity doesn't get sidetracked. Maybe we can cajole Rick into compiling a summary post again?
Peter
it would be a real service to have this, Michael, and I welcome an exploration of the analysis you will be doing.

Peter, the percentage of Scott-listed stamp issuing entities that I have stamps from is actually 97%. Below is the list from which I do not have any stamps. It grew in 2013 when those Dutch Caribbean islands began issuing stamps.
Bangkok
Biafra
Bushire
Caribbean Netherlands
Cochin China
Curacao
Madagascar (British)
Marienwerder
New Republic
Ras Al Khaima
Saseno
Stellaland
St. Martin
Rick did a great job compiling that for me. He's been a fantastic partner in several of my online philatelic activities. We needed the compilation post as there were many responses within the analysis post.
All right, then. I'll do my thing again with the 2015 catalogs. I like your idea of the analysis post and the separate discussion post. Everyone was pretty good about not putting comments within the tournament post, so I don't think it will be a problem making a similar request. I'll set everything up on the Discussion Board after I receive the first catalog.
I think the earlier catalog was 2011. The comparison was made with the 2013 catalog.
I enjoyed your analysis as I found all the countries I collect increased in value. thank you for the report.
That analysis was done two years ago. I'll be doing a new analysis to see what has happened since then (2013 catalog - 2015 catalog).
Michael... All I can say is 'yes, please'. Your summaries were one of the main reasons I read the Stampwants/Bidstart forums.

Michael, thanks for posting the summary from a couple of years ago. That summary is what Rick compiled for everyone.
Well, being able to do this, I decided to move up my Scott catalogs to the 2015 edition. As some of you from the StampWants and BidStart eras probably remember, I used to post my unscientific findings of value changes of the new catalog edition versus the previous one that I had (usually 2 or three years apart). It is purely based on my collection. Some liked it. Is there any interest in my doing this again here? Volume 1 was released on March 31. I should receive it in a week or two.
