I haven't even been on that site for a long time now. My son told me that his BS account was suspended. He only buys and sells there, and has nothing to do with the forums. He never asked for his account to be closed.
Well this only confirms what I posted there a couple of months ago then was immediately suspended. In a way it has been a good thing no more BS bs.
Wow, some of you have been bad boys -- getting suspended. I crossed the bridge before they could do that. It's amazing after all these years, I haven't gotten suspended or expelled, yet!
Well, that closes a long chapter with bittersweet memories. Fortunately, some of the best parts of that chapter make a subsequent reappearance in the following chapter. Thanks all!
Let's not forgot oneeaglelover, dianealthea, stampsz, jtbt1092... up there in the big stamp vault in the sky.
Fondly remember them all.
Whatever happened to olderthandirt?
Kim, yes, they will be remembered fondly. And Ross, you are vindicated! I read your posts and they did not warrant such action IMHO. That was the proverbial straw that led me to quit the site.
The newsletter announcement noted that the "old" bidStart site will be gone in favor of the new SG site. I wonder how they will make me pay my outstanding balance of 56c, which represented my fees for the last month I was there (December)? The chapter is closed.

I owe them 38 cents from October. They aren't looking to collect it. If they ever get that desperate and they need it, I'll send them 50 cents along with a big kiss-off.
I quit there too because of how they treated Ross. Not being on BS anymore gives me more time to spend on porn sites I mean Stamporama!! I hope no one saw that.
I was never a member of BS, but reading all the comments over the past year has given me an insight into how an organization can alienate and mistreat the persons it purportedly serves. I am often chastised for being overly attentive to rule enforcement and for my authoritarian attitude when, in fact, I am just trying to make the Stamporama experience as transparent as possible, so a BS incident will never happen here. Additionally, the VC would never tolerate the type of mean spirited, brazen and disrespectful attitude exhibited by the BS admins and mods.
This is a great club, and I appreciate SOR all the more when I read such comments.

I never used the BS forum, but used to buy and sell on BS, I gave up about 5-6 months or so ago when they started making it that the lost cost stamps cost too much to sell. I just got an email saying my bill stands at $4.55 and as such was under the $5 minimum so not yet due. As I have no intention of ever going back there I don't see this ever getting paid unless they lower their minimum payment
I just realized that I will probably lose all my purchasing information. While they might transfer account/feedback information, I doubt they will transfer old listings. That was one of the many nice things about BS until they decided to purge the membership. I guess I'd better find the time this week to download it all. Long list of penny auctions...
When The BS management terminated my membership I had an account balance of $0.91. I wanted to pay my balance off and be done with them. They said dont worry about its only $0.91. After several back and forth e-mails I demanded they take payment as I wanted absolutely nothing out there to discredit me. 2 weeks later I got an invoice via Paypal and paid my balance off. Done with them for good.
With SG at the helm now and with them having a horrid 1st quarter in sales and a 7% drop in stock value with the announcement of the up coming SG Collectibles Market Place website, I dont see them passing up on any amount of owed monies.
Well, BD's suspension got me all curious (and riled up again). So I went back to see what happened. Of course, all the juicy stuff got removed, and replaced with a blanket accusation by BS management. It sounds like what they did was simply cut and paste BD's deleted post and put it into this month's newsletter. They aren't happy because BD let the cat out of the bag too early. Again, something most of us long suspected when SG bought BS and a lot of major changes were made without the "forum testing/comments" of previous years.
We can pretty much figure out who comprised the so-called "test group" that BS administration relied upon rather than the SW Forum.
That will be my last visit back to the BS Forum, or soon to be SG spin forum.
Kim,
It was public knowledge posted on the SG Investment Groups "Press Release" link. At least the door didnt hit me I was on my way out. I just didnt like the deception, lack of communication and the treatment that many founding members received from staff when things got rough.
It was best put by Cheap Trick:
Bye-bye, so long, farewell
Bye-bye, so long, sayonara
Bye-bye, au revoir, auf wiedersehen
Bye-bye, so long, farewell
Bye-bye, so long, suicide
Bye-bye, so long, hari kari, kamikaze
The lyrics of the Academy Award winning song "Let it Go" from "Frozen" captures my sentiment with respect to that site:
"Let it go, let it go
Can’t hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
Turn away and slam the door
I don’t care
What they’re going to say
Let the storm rage on,
The cold never bothered me anyway"
Shocking, but my few stamp purchases on BidStart
were experiences of exquisite joy. Why?
The BidStart sellers were all members of Stamporama!
John Derry
I am moving my stamps to different places but i still need to move 25,000 lots. Really slow there.
olderthandirt is still on BS
Thanks.
