France bob.. N29 and N35 Scott # both listed at .55 used.

Do not remove these from the cover. Covers from occupied Alsace to the US are very uncommon!

I would expect there to be a German censor tape on the back .. yes?

and BTW, it is not "Elfob" but "Elsass" -- that is a single "s" followed by a double "s" in the old German Fraktur type.

FYI: The cover was examined by the Wehrmacht censors in Berlin who placed the censor tape and handstamps before it was sent along its journey. The small b indicates Berlin.

Here is the breakdown of the offices that I know:

a is Konigsberg
b is Berlin
c is Koln
d is Munich
e is Frankfurt
f is Hamburg
g is Vienna
h is Hof
k is Copenhagen
l is Lyon
n is Nancy
o is Oslo
t is Trondheim
x is Paris
y is Bordeaux
