Excellent article, John, and very nicely illustrated! The problem with a lot of philatelic articles is that, while the research may be sound and the language scholarly, the average reader is asleep long before the final point is presented. Your article combined everything so nicely, and tied it up concisely without losing completeness. The covers you included enhanced the presentation and added to the article rather than providing simple distractions from the material subject matter. Â Â
great reading; those must be extraordinarily rare covers, esp in the west
nice job, John

Greeting SOR Members,
Our resident astrophilatelist John Macco has posted a new article for the site, Intercosmos Program, which tells the story of a program under which citizens of various nations participated in manned spaceflight on board Soviet Union space vehicles and space stations with Soviet cosmonauts between 1978 and 1982. The program was launched in the spirit of cooperation in space exploration and the use of outer space for peaceful purposes. John has lots of details about the missions themselves, and the article is illustrated with some striking, autographed covers from his own collection.
Thanks to John for another great contribution!
Ralph
