A Service Dog gives a person with a disability independence. Never approach, distract or pet a working dog, especially when (s)he is in harness. Never be afraid to ask questions to the handler (parent).

I've been a part of SOR from the days when there were less than a dozen of us bumbling around on the "worldwide web" under a man with a great vision - Jerry Abern.

We have grown to thousands of members from around the world.

I've watched us work as a team. In the past two years we have completely redesigned the website through committees, created Approval Books, encouraged new members to actively participate in all the discussions and so much more.

I give my thanks to everyone who has volunteered to build and maintain this great stamp club. I extend my hand to those who will volunteer when their time allows them to do so.

Without all of the volunteers here at SOR, we would have ceased to exist years ago and yet, here we are - 18 years after this small little club started.

The philatelic knowledge that each one of the members bring to the discussions is amazing. The articles that have been written, exhibits that have been created and just the companionship we share amongst each other has made this club so wonderful.

One of the recent discussions was about the "death of stamp collecting." Look around my dear friends, stamp collecting is not dying, it is thriving and SOR is evidence of a hobby that will never disappear.

Thanks again to every one of our volunteers and a special thanks to Tim who has worked so hard at making our visions a reality here in the virtual world.
