Poor weather outside makes us work on our stamps inside!

Oddly enough, I haven't spent a penny on stamps or philatelic accessories since
the debut of 2014.
Have been assisting my dear wife, Fran, with "pre-spring" house-cleaning which,
by her definition, requires me to repaint most of the interior of our home. Today
I took a break from turpentine and soaked a bucket of stamps on paper to reduce
my blood pressure. Now I'm enjoying an imported IPA from Deschutes Brewery
of Bend, Oregon, a craft brewery which we toured a few years ago.
Life is good, yes.

I just got back from Stamp Club and February is off to a good start as I managed to spend $85 in the club auction. I have told the auctioneer that if the bidding is slow, I will pay $1 for anything, which occasionally means I get things I don't realize I got. tonight I turned my back for a minute and I heard, "Lot 23 goes to Jack for a dollar". I asked what I just got and was told not to worry, I would like it. I'm going to look in a bit and see.

Stampmanjack we have a couple of guys like you in our club thank goodness...its good for the treasury. We used to have guys that outbid one another just to deny the other guy..interesting to watch !!
Poor weather outside makes me want to go outside and build snow forts. No time for stamps during winter. Too much fun!
I've been shoveling snow the laws two days and more to come tonight....yuk

Phil,
What did you have to do to get to the point where your wife didn't trust you with a paint brush? Now, before you tell us all this secret, you should consider that you have a million dollar book deal here in the making.
Regards ... Tim.
Ah Tim, your question returns me to the last century when I was to touch up the molding for or newly expected arrival-that nursery room was so special. I jumped at the task, and found out quickly enough that I was not to be trusted with a paint brush-ever. Somehow, no matter what I touched as carefully as I could, I always spotted something that wasn't meant to be painted.
I ended up painting the entire room of course because of it, along with the ceiling, and spent hours cleaning the floor! Not that anyone would care of course-but your question recalled that incident.
Sorry for the digression.
Best,
Dan C.
I actually feel a little guilty about what I have spent this month. It has been a long, cold, snowy winter. I blame that. It couldn't be that I am weak and have no will power.

Lately i have been finding and purchasing quite a few items of interest..i realize from years of experience that over the year my purchases will average out..but January seems a bit busier than average ! At least i am finding worthwhile stuff !!
