From a buyer's standpoint, some opinions:
1. Really like the idea and implementation of the approvals so far - easy to use, maybe too easy to buy items ( haha)
2. Some of the images are too small to be useful. I won't buy something by the picture if I can't judge what it is or its basic condition
3. Appreciate the sellers who are willing to combine lots from the auction and approval sections
4. Don't like when books are constantly updated as they then appear as "new" and maybe only 1 or 2 stamps or pages were added. I haven't been able to figure out how to jump pages so going through 10 or so pages just to get to the end gets too time consuming
5. Prices seem reasonable though some are priced at full catalog listing (ex. Precancels)
Overall, very nice system. Thanks again to all who had a hand in creating it!

I don't like books which have multiple multiple identical stamps, mostly common low value ones. Just a few to chose from is enough. But pages and pages of 5, 10 or more copies each is a real turn off. My suggestion is for sellers to list a M, used and any special cancellation choices, but to avoid this repetitive dump of what to me appears as material that does not sell anyway in your store, or that you have hundreds of.
If the few items listed do sell, you can add more later, by adding a few more pages of selected material that is in demand!
rrr....
I do like well organized and well presented books.
I don't like books that are essentially no book at all, ie they have no common thread or theme. That is a dumpster, not a book.
Please avoid this "worldwide" or A-Z or randomly dis-organized listings, and if you want to go that way, select a country or a theme, so that a buyer can find what they are looking for, not have to page through your material. Organized is the key word here.

First of all lots of thanks to:
1. Everyone involved in the design and implementation of this feature for us.
2. Everyone who has taken the trouble to create approvals pages for us to view and buy from!
What do I like:
1. I like to be able to judge the quality of a stamp clearly from its picture, especially the perforations which are sometimes too hard to see or are hidden behind other stamps or labels.
2. I like sellers who show the stamps on a black background so that the majority of stamps with white perforations have them stand out as clearly as possible.
3. I like sellers to provide enough packing for the stamps to survive the journey to me. I'm pleased to say that so far this has not been a problem.
4. I find it useful when sellers add little notes about defects.
5. I like when sellers allow buyers to combine purchases from different books over time.
6. I like when sellers indicate their plans if any to add more books in the near future so I can look out for them if they sound interesting.
7. I like to see multiple copies of the same stamp to pick from.
What do I not like:
1. While the overall appearance of stamps on pastel pages can be pleasant on the eye at first glance, I find this makes it too hard for me to see the perforations clearly and I have found this frustrating. I'm sure I would have bought many more stamps from these sellers if the contrast had been stronger.
2. Pictures that are too small or blurred to be able to judge the quality or even the identity of the stamps on offer.
Things I don't care about:
1. I don't mind if the stamps are given catalogue IDs or not (although if a stamp is not the cheapest of the face-different varieties then it makes sense to do this or state the perforation or watermark etc.)
2. I don't mind if the stamps are out of order although if the seller has more than one of the same stamp for sale in a book then I would prefer they were on the same page to let me compare them easily.
Suggestions for improvement:
I'm happy with the system as it is currently, however,
1. I'd like to be able to navigate around the pages more easily. Maybe we could have a "go to page number ... box"? Or, at its simplest, perhaps we could have "go to last page" as well as a "go to first page" when we open a book?
All the best from a happy StampoRama Approvals customer.
Overall this is a very nice feature for set/page builders like me. It is easy to use a both a buyer and seller and my #1 points as a buyer and seller are the only points that I think must be addressed.
Alot if not all of what I have to say has been indicated already but here it goes
As a buyer
1. Must be able to select page and not have to keep clicking next page.
2. If your page is not organized I probably wont buy from you. I am not sure it should be a rule or just a heads up.
3. I see a high possibility of misclicks with no confirmation steep. (Already had one misclick as a seller)
4. A feedback system is an idea but not essential.
5. It might be nice to have the price of the stamps more obvious. I like how it is now. All the page the same price but being able to have different prices for different pages in the same album. However as a buyer I can see clicking along and flipping pages and thinking you are on a 5 cent page when you have entered into 25 cent land. No big deal and it would only be my own fault but still, I can see it happening. Maybe make it clear somewhere down by the buy buttons that the stamps on this page are X amount.
Franky - if you go into your Member profile page, scroll down and you will see an option to have a "confirmation" page come up before you actually buy something. That will prevent any misclicks in the Approvals and Auctions.
Hope this helps.

As already mentioned, I would like to see a "go to page" type of option (in the auction section as well).
I like organised books arranged in numerical order for costs. There have been a few books that I've looked at that jump from one value to another on the next page and then several pages later back to the earlier value. It is much easier when the book is consistent.
Please don't activate your book until all your pages have been added. Once you activate your book please only edit it for typos. If you find you have more stamps, simply create a new book for them and when it is large enough (at least 5 pages) then activate it.

The Approvals feature is very new to SOR, and all of us are still learning how it works and how it helps us in our collecting endeavors. In this thread, I invite Buyers (those who have purchased from the books), or just those who have browsed this section, to give us feedback. What have you purchased and how was the experience? How does pricing affect your purchases? For those of you who have already received purchases in the mail, were you satisfied (no Seller names, please, please)? What do you like/dislike about this feature? How can it be improved? Etc.
