I am working on a revision of one of my web pages, about the tiny post office in Arenas Valley, New Mexico. Over the years, have managed to find just a handful of covers postmarked there; the post office was only in existence for something like 40 years, give or take two or three years — I have only been able to find conflicting evidence about its opening and closing dates.

My question: Does anyone know if statistics about post office use are available — income, numbers of pieces of mail handled (incoming and outgoing), etc.? An internet search came up empty except for national annual totals for numbers of post offices and income. It's quite shocking to realize how many fewer post offices exist today compared to even a couple of decades ago. Sad

The past is a foreign country, they do things different there.

How comforting to see your smiling face back on Stamporama. You haven't aged a day.
Good luck in your quest for information.
