Could be a great find if more show up, or could just be from a random dust particle on the plate. Would hope there are more. I will have to file this in the back of my mind to look whenever I sort through my stash of these.
Here is a xmas seal ink error I picked up yesterday. It has a blue spike above the top frame. Have never seen one before and I could not find any references to it. Could also just be an anomaly.
At the speed today's printing presses run it's pretty amazing that there aren't more of these types of faults, errors or anomalies, they must surely pick up little bits of paper or dust that is created from the movement of air created by the amazing high speeds they attain.

I agree there lots of scenarios for creating faults, but we need to look for more than one example to determine if there was a plate flaw or a some debris that left unintended marks on multiple sheets. Always nice to find the 1st one, and with a club like SOR it may not take long to determine if something is a one time wonder or a really new discovery. Let's go find em.
My daughter Shelley was going though a shoe box full of recent US stamps that we bought a few weeks ago. There are 1000's of stamps, and 100's of the Justice stamp. She happened to find this. A red dot/dash whatever you want to call it at the bottom edge of the letter "J". It's the only one we found. I doubt if it's a major find, but Shelley was still pleased that she spotted it. She put it away with other odds and ends she has found over the years.
