I do have some worldwide stamps to offer for trade if anyone does have any breast cancer stamps they would like to trade.
Kelly
The US, of course, issued Scott #B1, for breast cancer research. Several other countries have issued stamps with a similar design. Hungary is one that comes to mind.
There was a discussion about these stamps about a year ago. I don't remember if it was here or over in the Forum at BidStart. If it's over there, good luck trying to find it.
Thanks Michael, I'll look into it.
Here is an interesting site showing how the US Breast cancer stamp came into being. Several other countries have used the same general design on their stamps to promote breast cancer research, and some of these are shown at the end.

Jerry Shean might be able to help; he specializes in this stamp; it's his icon.
Thanks Jill and David. I'll keep my eyes open.
My knowledge of stamps outside of my comfort zone is limited so this could be a new and exciting challenge
Might also make for a nice exhibit for our website when I eventually create mine.
All the best to everyone.

Hi Kelly,
Did you ever get any of the USA B1 Breast Cancer Semi-Postal stamps?
If not, I think I have a couple on cover that I would gladly send you as freebies. Just send your address in a private message (via Stamporama messaging/email)
Best Regards,
Dave N.
There is also Scott USA 3081, issued in 1996, "Breast Cancer Awareness" 32c stamp.
I did a quick search of "Breast Cancer" in the Stamps category on eBay and found, in addition to US issues, stamps (singles, panes, and on covers) from Australia, Bosnia, Argentina, Kenya, Macedonia, Pakistan, Romania, France, and a Turkey fiscal or Cinderella. And that was just from the first two search result pages (out of seven).
Cheers,
Peter
Peter - thanks for the info. I'm hoping to put this together just stamp by stamp - if someone has something that they would like in exchange, just let me know.
Kelly
Last year, some of you sent me some stamps that represent Breast Cancer. I had planned to create a project of my journey. I appreciate those that I have received. Sadly, my journey is not over and I would like to still create this project.
If anyone has any of these stamps (from any country) that they can spare, please let me know. I will pay for the postage.
Kelly
Oh Dear, here we go again my interest has been hijacked by yet another idea. As last year my Mum had breast cancer and a mastectomy (appears to be clear now), this year it's Dad's turn with prostate cancer and an Uncle with bowel cancer, this seems to be a project for me.
No history of cancer at all in either side of the family then suddenly three in one go. Might have to make my project more cancer in general though as I only know of one stamp for prostate cancer and none for bowel.
if @poodle_mum you are prepared to share any information that would be great. At the moment for Breast cancer I have found 12 stamps not including the USA ones to collect.
Guyana - sorry to hijack your project.
There are 5 different methods of mastectomies and I had one method - bilateral done last August. I've spent most of the past 9 months in treatment. No one expects to hear that diagnosis just after their 40th birthday. Some of our SOR friends sent me some breast cancer stamps and my goal was to map out my journey. What I wasn't expecting was to see my surgeon this past Monday and be told I was having more surgery in three weeks. This time the method will be a more radical bilateral mastectomy.
Having said that, if anyone has cancer stamps to share, please consider Guyana first as that project is more important than mine.
I'm very sorry to hear about the issues with cancer your parents have had to live with, as well as the trials it has placed upon you and the rest of your family. May your father and uncle be blessed and come out of this ordeal in health. It is good to hear that your mother's margins are clear and she is well.
All the best,
Kelly
Guyana - sorry to hijack your project.
No no no, sorry you got me wrong I'm doing the hijacking, your posts here got my interest up and I'm now searching for any cancer related stamps. I have some in my regular collections but don't want to remove them so for the moment I only have these
and this post cancellation from GB
I have a few copies of your 3rd stamp on the right side that some people sent me. I'm extremely grateful to those who did, but I need a lot more to be able to mark my surgery dates, treatment dates, etc and now the next bump in the road that will have me covered for another 3 months or so which will take me through a full year fighting this.
A friend suggested this stamp project last year as a way to document my journey in a positive way. I just ran out of stamps after the first few months.
There where You mentioned few countries that issued this - You have also same (USA B1) design from Jordan, Slovakia... as mentioned, Jerry Shean is great at this topics!
Hi Kelly,
Here is a cover i helped put together for The Philadelphia National Stamp Exhibition in '05.
Send me your addres by email and I will send them to you. My wife had the battle four years ago. We never want to go through that again. We have been cancer free for two years. Good luck with your surgery and recovery.
Vince
No need to send me your address, I found it on the members area.
Thank you Vince.
You're so very kind. Hard to believe it is only one more week until the surgery. Time is flying so fast but at the same time I want this over with and get all of this out of my body now.
All the best to you and hugs to you and your wife.
Kelly
I just adore how these physical gifts of whimsical or heartfelt covers often travel from one place to another, paralleling the good wishes and prayers we share.
Kelly, more prayers from this corner
As "hell week" begins tomorrow - yes, I seriously needed to be asleep hours ago, I've once more been thinking of my project. I purchased a few breast cancer stamps the other day at far too high a price however I truly feel this project will be emotionally healing for me.
If you have duplicates of any country issue please let me know as well as what you collect and when I am well enough to go through my stamps, I will reciprocate with hopefully something you can either use or throw into an Approval Book.
Yes I realise this thread should probably be moved to swaps and I do apologise.
All the best to each of you.
Kelly
Macedonia has issued several breast cancer postal tax stamps. I will try to get my album out this week and get some scanned for you.
I've been sitting here thinking the past few days about my personal experiences over the past two months.
While I have several focussed collections - Russia, Germany, British Royalty, etc. I'm thinking it might be interesting (and quite meaningful) for me to create a breast cancer topical collection.
Has anyone here seen any stamps such as these? Bear in mind my experience of modern stamps is quite limited. My very small worldwide collection is generally pre-1915.
Any ideas would be welcomed.
Kelly
