Dear Guys,
I have many, possibly all of the original Ramblers. If I can be of any help, let me know.
Dan C.
Hey Dan - that's great. I misplaced mine when I moved 9 years ago. I had an article in one of them and wish I still had it. It's too much work to ask but if you find you have some spare time down the road I'd love a pdf of any that you have that are not currently in our online archives.
Maybe you would be interested in writing something about your early US collection?
The way the new Rambler is designed, articles should only be two or maximum three paragraphs. Any websites, db threads, etc are to be added to the end of the article to encourage readers to utilise the SOR db and other philatelic or historical websites.
A quick note to everyone who may have an interest in volunteering from time to time (we aren't requesting that any volunteers MUST write for every edition) - a short historical article on a particular topic on a stamp would be an ideal article. Perhaps you collect trains on stamps - pick one of your favorite train stamps and do a short write-up about that particular train from an historical perspective.
Remember, everything we collect is important. A write-up on a topical or historical event (with links included for further reference) is right up our alley.
Take the plunge my friends. Looking at your own home-made album pages with write-ups probably would make a great article for the Rambler! The sky is the limit.
Also, unlike the old Rambler that included many pages, our new Rambler will be much shorter. This way it is quick to read, it is not a list of links to already existing threads, has informative info such as I mentioned above - the goal is to reach out to all of our members who may or may not currently read the discussion board for whatever reason.
So please feel free to volunteer. Just think of how many articles are already in existence in every members' albums with your write-ups

Glad to hear the "Rambler" will soon be available again. During the Pre-computer era I was editor in chief of a model railroad newsletter, now I'm looking in my archives to see if any survived. I wish I had scanned them for posterity sake. I believe I have a few hard copies somewhere and I'll PDF these if found. If any help is needed in this project count me in....Dan is sending me a copy of one of the Ramblers so I know what I'm getting into.
The new Rambler is now available on the Rambler page. Thank you Kelly and Ross for a wonderful new addition to the Stamporama offering.
My apologies to those of you who have received multiple email notifications regarding the availability of the new Rambler Newsletter. I have had some teething problems with the bulk email sender.
Regards ... Tim.
Great first issue. I am going to draft some articles.
I just wanted to add a quick note - the new Rambler will not be issued on a monthly basis so if you are interested in contributing, have no fear of time constraints. You can submit anything at any time and it will find it's way into the Rambler when it is next published. We like to keep articles to approximately 4 paragraphs and the entire Rambler at roughly the length of this first edition. So if you do write something and do not see it in the next Rambler, fear not, it is archived and will be placed in future editions
Thank you to those who have already expressed their appreciation and volunteering to contribute. All members are the beating heart of SOR and everything philatelic is welcome.
All the best.
Kelly
Any way to put a link for the Rambler somewhere? Maybe on the home drop down menu?
Hi John,
The link is in the side navigation on the left hand side of the home page.
Regards .., Tim
Just read through the Rambler. Appreciate the good articles and the time required to put it all together. Kudos to all involved.
Roger
Very nice Rambler, I enjoyed reading it, A big thanks to all the members that made the Rambler possible again.

Really happy that the Rambler is back. Club information is essential for those who are really interested in this club, those that don't care, well, they know who they are...
Really enjoyed the Rambler! Keep up the good work.
It is just GREAT!
rrr....
I want to express a heartfelt thank you to all those who have either posted here or personally contacted me with expressions of appreciation for the first edition of the new Rambler newsletter. It has made all of us who worked on it very happy.
I also want to personally extend a thank you to all those who have already contributed articles for our next edition which should come out some time in January.
Please feel free to contact either Ross or myself with any article or contribution. As long as it is related to any aspect of Philately we welcome it for future editions. There is no time limit to any submission, all are held in archives to be included in future newsletters. They can be any length from one paragraph or more. If it is more than 4 paragraphs, it might be split over two editions. Please send jpgs of stamps or covers that are to be included in your articles.
Thank you again to everyone - it is a pleasure for us to be able to create this newsletter and see the delightful responses.
Kelly
Lovely to see the positive responses this is engendering and its added interactivity here; it's like bonus benefits, cross-pollination. Nice. Well done Kelly and Ross.
Need any help with proofreading? I have edited and proofread many professional publications. I would be happy to contribute my skills on that but would have to defer to another to make sure that catalog numbers, etc. are accurate. I'm all over sentence structure and grammar.
Bruce
Hi everyone -
An updated version of the Rambler Newsletter is in the making. If you are interesting in volunteering to assist with the newsletter, please private message me or Ross aka TheBlueDude and we will be in touch with you as soon as we can.
Thanks in advance to everyone!!!
