i remember being in Budapest; i bought several FDCs franked with the mushroom stamps; it was among my first forays into buying stamps; previously I'd only ordered FDCs from USPS or received envelopes from friends and coworkers. Fond memory
thanks for sharing and allowing the memory to blossom
incidentally, I have some mushrooms that grow on my land in the fall. they measure more than a foot in diameter and at least 9" in height. Eventually they become a ball of spores.

David, are your own mushrooms eatable, though? I have never been picking mushooms in woods without a professional on my side!
Another thing, It would be really nice to see a bit more of other members topical stamp collections on the site. I'm sure a lot of you have great topical stamps to show us also!Love to see them!
i've never tried the mushrooms.
my daughter and i are going to try to organize her horse collection; perhaps we can display that when it's done; my topicals are, unfortunately, as unorganized as i am. Funny how that works.

That would be fabulous, David!
There is mini sheet from Czechoslovakia, that have also nice design and nice catalog value, but other, that are CTO drive me mad, because it is just made for profit, no artistic effort there.
Recently, i obtained also from Jordan one set - nice and well made design:
Mushrooms from Algeria
Here's some ( 1981 ) Australian Fungi..

Hi Everyone;
You all need to get a copy of the catalog "Fungi Perfecti". They sell sterilized growth medium
infused with edible mushroom spores. They don't smell and can be grown indoors. They also
have dowels with spiral grooves that have been sterilized and infused with spores.
If you have a stump that you want to get rid of, why not eat it? You simply drill holes that are
a snug fit for these plugs and drive them into your stump. The mushrooms will grow from the
stump and eventually consume it, making it's demise several times faster than Nature does.
Just cookin'....

Here is my collection of mushroom stamp sheets I wanted to share here. Next weekend they will be displayed by one of my cousins in a little stamp show ( families and kids to see) amoung many others not far from Paris.
For mushroom lovers, beware some of them are delicious to eat. Others are very poisonous and, of course, others are "magic mushrooms"!Try and sort out the goodies from the baddies!Nevertheless, I still love a good mushroom soup when october comes along!
