I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.

I have a full sheet of 50 stamps of the image below. I believe it is either a Scott #87 or a variation of #87 (like an 87h!!!) The eagle feels as if it is embossed if that makes any difference. The entire sheet is imperf, and has full gum on the reverse. What do I have?

re: Help on Identification

Upon further research, I found out what a Lozenges is. I believe it is the diamond shaped objects that appear on the sheet. My problem is that the Lozenges run accros the sheet and I can't tell if they are horizontal or vertical. Hard to see from the scan but the diamond shapes appear to run vertical. The tallest part of the diamond shape runs up and down, i.e. vertical. Scotts only talks about Horizontal Lozenges. I do not collect foreign stamps, I obtained this sheet in a bulk lot. Confused

A large scan of a single stamp would help.

Excellent! I've got 2 stamp sheets on that period also. I think yours is worth a bit of money! Have a look on ebay.Ask the seller about the stamp sheet if it is on sale.

The large diamonds that barely show at the top of the stamp (in the selvage) only show when the light is just right. They do not show when under magnification. The diamond pattern in the stamp itself appear as little round mottled circles when under magnification. Hope this helps.

re: Help on Identification

OK, after further research on Ebay and realizing that I was missing the column that said: "Imperf" Blushing I have determined that what I have, I think, is a sheet of Scott # 131 with cupons (what ever they are) and or printers mark. Cat value of 25 cents per single stamp. O'well, someday I will find that jewel, until then I will keep looking. If anyone has a different opinion, I am open. Thanks to everyone who responded. This is a great place.

The coupons are the dark/light "V" marks. Plus a premium $$ for the Sheet.
