Good move. Obviously a popular topic. Everyone wants more !!!! Hard to separate the "Wheat from the Chafe". I hope you have a committee helping you with selections.
Hi Fellow Members,
I was wondering if anyone has ever looked at the possibility of adding electronic or virtual circuit books to the club. I'm not sure how it would work or the parameters such as maximum value of items or if it would be set up by seller or grouping of stamps. It appears that many members of SOR have been looking for a way to sell lower value stamps without having to list and relist stamps every week or two. Perhaps we could keep items listed in circuit books for 3 - 4 months before they have to be deleted. Please post your thoughts on this suject and if it would be practical to do this. MARGIN - Mario
Mario, something along those lines, but not quite, is being considered right now; several folks are working out possible details.
David
Lately I have noticed that with increasing frequency topics are disintegrating into friendly chats which have no relevance to the purported topic. I am all for friendly conversation, but I have been receiving complaints (and I feel rightly so) from members who zone in on a topic of interest only to find chit-chat with no connection to the topic into which he/she wished to interject reflection.
Perhaps if we could have a chat board where members could meet and converse, this practice would abate. I know the idea has been brought up before, but I do not know if there was ever any discussion about the feasibility or possibility of such a feature.

Hi Bobby,
I have it on the list.
Regards ... Tim
Hi Phil,
In the Auction, in the Buyers dropdown menu, select View Open Lots. In this screen you will see all the lots that you have bid on, even if you are no longer the highest bidder. You will see who is the highest bidder, what the highest bid is and what your current bid is. If you click on the Seller column heading, the list will be sorted and grouped by Seller and you will see the amount of money you are currently on the hook for with each seller, should you win all the lots that you are currently the high bidder on.
Underneath the Open Lots List, you will see your Watch List.
Regards ... Tim.
And under that are the "Won Lots" grouped by seller, but not yet invoiced.
The next item below is outstanding invoices, with their status.
It is all very user friendly.
Here is a simple change that I would appreciate.
When looking at auctions, the following information is posted at the end of the list:
(ex from today's 24 hour auctions) ""(Displaying Lots 1 to 200 of 367)""
I would love to see this at the top, as well, or instead.
Actually, what I would like to see is the number of items in that search (367 items in this example)....and I would like to have it up top, not at the bottom, so I don't have to hit page down 10 times to find it.
rrr....
Rrr... I'll take a look at that for you.

By now I am sure you found the post, but if you didn't, it is HERE
I hope your wife will be driving to that Albany show
" .... I'll take a look at that for you. ...."
If you are changing that area please consider making it possible to jump to later pages. For instance when there are 3,000 plus auction listings I often have to stop browsing somewhere due to some interruption.
When I come back I have to scan through several pages, often quite a few to get back to where I left off. Now I understand that it is a dynamic listing and the stamps on page 20 will have migrated somewhat in a few hours, but I'd rather start at a mid-range page and see if they are familiar than have to go down one page at a time, waiting at each page for all the scans to load.
Charlie makes an excellent point. That's something I have wished for too. Sally
In the Buyer section of the auction, I'd like to see a list of the items that I had bid on but did not win along with the winning bid. I don't think this is available now.
.. and the ability to "show all," so that all currently available lots can be screened for a certain seller, or key words (souvenir sheet) etc. Currently, one has to sift through all subsections individually.
(Minor point, not even using our auction that much).
Arno
How about adding the "Link" button to the "Home" drop down button.
Thank you in advance,
Ross
It was said before, but I wanted to bring it up again (I think Michael numbers posted it first):
Can we have a "marked all posts as read" button so when we click "Last Day" (for example) it won't show us as unread, the same items that we don't have an interest in reading?
Thanks.
Peter
Unless I am doing something wrong, I cannot attach an image to a private message to another member, all I can send is text. If I am not doing something idiotic, which is possible, I would like to see the same capability for uploading images as with the normal discussion threads.
You're not doing anything wrong, there is not an option to add attachments in private messages.
Is there a Stamporama Android Mobile APP?
All you have to do is close the browser; that logs you off automatically. I would actually prefer it kept you logged in until you actually logged out, but I understand from a previous post this is the way it is for security reasons.
Clayton,
I'm sorry we haven't got to writing mobile apps for Stamporama.
Tim
@mdroth, is there a particular reason that you would like the Logoff more central. I really only added logoff for myself because I have to logoff and log back on with a different username sometimes when I'm trouble shooting.
@dscstamps, I think that I have a request to add image in the SOR Message function in my list of things to do. Please see. If not, I'll add it to the list. This will take a while to get to because the Message function was written quite a while ago and will need a rewrite to be able to handle images, formating and emoticons.
@thebluedude, Ross, you asked to have the Links link added to the Home dropdown. It is already on the main navigation bar on the home page. Are you saying that you'd like a link to Links from the Discussion Board?
@michael78651, add a list of auction lots bid on but didn't win, including the winning bid. I'll add it to the ToDo List.
@Rhinelander, Arno requested "the ability to "show all," so that all currently available lots can be screened for a certain seller". I'll add this to the list Arno, but there are two way to see all the lots from a particular seller already. 1) When looking at the lot details screen, in the Offered By line you will see a link on the right side, "View All Username Auctions"; and 2) from the Auction Search screen just enter the sellers username or actual name and you will get a list of all the lots offered by that member. So on the Search screen, select "Seller", enter "Arno" and you will get a list of all the lots that you have posted in the auction.
@ cdj1122 & smaier, Charlie and Sally, you asked to be able to jump to a certain position in the list of auction lots. At the moment it says "Displaying lots 1 to 50 of 502". Would you prefer to be able to enter a lot somewhere from 1 to 502 (in this case) and jump to that point, or would you prefer the "First Prev 1 2 3 4 ... 40 Next Last" type of format that you often see?
@rrraphy, I believe you asked for the "Displaying 1 to 50 of 502" to be placed on the top of the auction lot list as well as the bottom. I'll add it to the list.
Have I missed any recent requests?
Regards ... Tim.
Tim - I do not even recall what this request was, so I guess is not probably a priority for your to-do-list. I do like a recent request that let's you log off from anywhere on the site. I think it would be useful. I do not think there would be any danger of anyone hacking SOR and I cannot envision what anyone would want or could do, but maybe I am not seeing the bigger picture. Out of habit, I logoff just because!!! Some times I get distracted and SOR logs me off automatically.
I have a suggestion:
In the Auction, if I bid on a lot I have been watching, it would be nice to see it automatically disappear--once I bid on a lot, I don't need to watch it anymore. BOB
Tim,
Thanks for the tips! These actually handle my request.

Tim;
I use 100 lots per page and either way would work.
It's not so bad when there are 300-500 lots, but quite often there are about 4,000 and I am often interrupted. Of I return in a half hour or so lot # 1,456 will probably now be in the 1200s on a busy day, or night, but I can make an educated guess and then move forward or backward from there.
The same thing would happen if I'm on page 19 out of 38 pages. A CWAG will work to get pretty much back to where I left off.

Tim,
I'm with Charlie on this one. Probably doesn't matter which way you get there (either the actual lot number or page, 1 page 2, etc) because things will change given the dynamics of auction listings. I am most accustomed to seeing the "next prev 1 2 3 etc" on other types of websites, so I guess I would vote in favor of that kind of system.
Thanks,

I would like to see the email subject line that is sent out when an auction closes winner, state in the subject line that it was "SOLD"
Also in the email sent out when a stamp does not sell that the subject line state "NO WINNER". or some wording that there is a difference and would not need to necessarily open each email.
Hi d1stamper
You do not have to open each email ,if an item has been won the name of the winner is in the email heading.
If the item did not sell the email heading is from the stamporama auctioneer.

For the auction search, what would be great for me is if I could save Searches.
I tend to search by the specific countries I collect, and right now I have to do this manually. I would like to be able to access Saved Searches in the Buyers area.
I don't know if this is doable in the SOR software, but I figured it didn't hurt trying.
I don't know if anyone has suggested this, but in the "list discussion thread" pages I would love to see a date the thread was created (say in the Started By column, date only).
Sure, the date of last post may be useful, but so often I look to see when a thread was created (to see if it is really new because the "New" tag doesn't mean new thread - which may or may not be annoying - haven't decided yet).
Tim,
I was wondering if it's possible to add a shipping notification to the Auction/Invoicing system. Just something simple. Your purchase on (DATE) has shipped. Heck that would prevent new members from meeting the vast majority of current members they can't trust because they never post.
I have to admit I have not read all the suggestions but I'd love to see a menu box where you can type in a Scott catalog number and Whalla! all stamps with that catalog number appear whereas you can click on the country of your choice and be directed to that issue in the auction. You can do it Tim, we all know you can.
Philb in another post made mention how he could chat with others on another site. On Bidstart there is a live chat function where someone can chat live with someone else. I use it sparingly, but it is a nice little thing to use to talk to someone when you can't/don't want to wait for the lag time with emails or private messages. I don't know if the programming on SOR can support such a function, but maybe it is something that could be considered?
Hi Michael,

Is there an " Ask Seller a question " on their auction lot ???
no, not that everyone can see, as there is in eBay. however, you may click the seller's name and it will send you the seller in our database, where you can either send a message to the seller through our system or send an email.
hope that helps
David
