That's funny, because I started a small collection of modern postally used covers from there for that same reason.

Very nice collection of modern covers from Burkina Faso. An Egyptian friend gave me 3 similar covers a few years back. Untill I saw yours, the only I had seen were my own
One from 2006:
One from 2007:
And one from 2008:
But I have to admit that the modern cover from Africa I like best is this one, sent from Rwanda on 17th January 1993 to a friend who paid for the education of a Rwandese child. This was the last letter she received before the outbreak of the civil war. She never heard from the child since, pressumed to be dead
It i nice to see that some of the stamps they issue were actually available for general postage use.
That´s true
But I think it´s possible to find covers from all African countries
These are are covers I´ve gathered through exchanges with people who didn´t have stamps I wanted, but had some covers
Last month I received this postcard from Benin so apparently they still use their stamps in the former French colonies in Africa
It arrived in just 8 days, fairly good service in my book
One more:
Andanother one, registered from Guinea to Egypt in 2008
