Thanks to everyone for your vote of confidence on our work to re-design the website. I hope that everyone enjoys the new design and finds it easier to work with and easier to find previously posted threads.
All the best.

Arno, Kelly, Alyn, John,
i want to thank you for the immense amount of work you did and that essentially happened without anyone knowing. It's a Brooks Robinson moment you can take pride in and all of us can enjoy for years to come.
thanks for the great organization and all the work you did moving old threads into new ones where they'll be easier to access.
It's an amazing feat, and I am delighted to be a beneficiary of this. My life got better.
Thanks
David
I've been quiet about these changes. Figured to let things materialize and see where they went. Now I think it is time for me to chime in and say good job. Thanks.
I know this was very hard work. Great job, everyone! Thank you!
Hello all,
You probably noticed a number of changes made to our discussion board in the past two weeks. In our "new" discussion board topics are primarily organized by collecting area, which allows easily retrieving older discussions on a certain topic. A new structure of the DB was one of the suggestions that came out of our prior discussion on how to increase member participation. The new organization of discussion topics was designed -- taking numerous member comments into account -- by a group of member volunteers (Alyn, David, John, Kelly and I), and programmed by Tim. The real work then was the migration of all old discussions into the new structure. Each old discussion had to be reclassified into the best fitting new category and renamed as appropriate, a truly Herculean task (cleaning the Augean stables comes to mind).
I am happy to report that the work of the volunteer group, which had constituted itself on January 25, was concluded yesterday night, February 26 with the last old discussions in the General Philatelic and Off-Topic categories being transferred to their new permanent homes.
For the accidental reason of having been the first to come out with a draft, the role of informal leader of the volunteer group fell in my lap. Kelly always had the most creative ideas, David played the role of elderly statesman, John was just such a trooper, doing the bulk of the work in the dreaded "Archives" sub-section while delivering dry humor with STUCK CAPS, Alyn the voice of reason, Tim – we would not be able to get anything done without him. So, yes, we did it. It was a true team effort. Thank you, Alyn, Kelly, David, and John. It was great working with you!
Two quick final points:
We did not move discussions from the old “Can you identify this?†section if the pictures were missing. It would be useless to carry the identification of invisible stamps forward. More importantly, perhaps, we only migrated the last nine months of “Let’s trade / Wanted to buy†assuming anything older was not current anyways. If you have any older trading offers that are still outstanding, you need to repost in the new Let’s Trade! Section.
Arno
