Got this fine unused example in a bunch of covers. This was privately printed, I haven't seen any of these used on commercial mail, has anyone seen these used? This was printed to advertise the domestic arimail rate drop by US Postal Service from 8¢ to 5¢
This one goes into my US Airmails exhibit

Saleem,

Since this thread deals with "rate drops" I hope you won't mind my posting a few last day/first day covers from the 1928 air mail rate change.

re: Rate Drop Envelopes

the last cover is interesting on two fronts. First, it's Berman to Herman. And, second, Scott prices the C11 differently on covers from this date than on dates pre or post.

Steven,

Would you consider putting the C11 cover in the auction?

I'd certainly be interested in bidding on it.

Thanks for posting the images Steve - I also have/had a few of these rate drop rate increase covers but have sold them at auctions as I'm only interested in commercial uses.

Randy,

Thanks for the offer. Unfortunately, that is the only C11 that I have on cover so I'm not inclined to part with it.
