Hello Wonderful people,
I am new to stamporama and actually have not looked at my stamp albums since I was
10 y.o been a couple of decades. So I guess you could say I am a novice.
I deceided to jion after reading an article about a Used 1935 2d Map of Ireland experimental coil stamp of Ireland. Apparently it is The most scarcest and most valuable Irish postage stamp and a rarity due only a few printed (number in existence 20 mint, several used, and a few on cover currently valued at 1500 GB used as it is suppose to be the first Irish postage stamp.)Scott catalog No. 68b, SG no. 74b.
which to be honest was alittle strange to find in my album as I only have one other Irish stamp. I have mainly Danish, German, Magyar Posta, Ceskoslovensko, Helvetia, and Posta Romana. Anyway that's me have a wonderful evening all.

Dear Kitekat,
Welcome to our raucous and growing family. As you already know, we love to bicker/fight/share and 'love' each other in our own ways. You are most welcomed and indeed needed-since one of our desires is to pass on the love of the hobby. Let us know of any questions/thoughts that you are dealing with, and for sure someone of us will jump in to try to help.
All good thoughts,
Dan C.

re: New member introduction: Kitekat

Greetings, Kitekat. Welcome to the nuthouse!

Just a comment on your Ireland Scott #68b. Prior to the definitive series issued in 1922-1923 (Scott #65-76) Irish stamps were overprinted stamps of Great Britain for the provisional government. The first postage stamps with the "EIRE" inscription were indeed the 1922-1923 set mentioned above. However, the first, if you want to call it that, truly "Irish" stamp was Scott #68. The Scott #68b coil was issued in 1935. The first coil stamp of Ireland was issued in 1933, Scott #87a.

If in fact you have a Scott #68b, you've got yourself a nice stamp. You should consider getting a certificate of authenticity for it as Scott #68 can be trimmed to make it look like a #68b.

Yes, welcome indeed, Kitekat.

Me, too, I'd like to see a scan of that stamp.

Note that not all of us who belong to Stamporama are necessarily "wonderful".

The first stamp I saved from and envelope my stepfather tried to destroy hence the tear in the bottom left corner. Stamp 2&3 appear to be printed on coloured paper - Can anyone pls tell me if they where or have they taken colour from something?
stamp 4 I just liked stamp 5 is confusing me is the picture in the middle upside down? what is it a picture of pls?

If anyone can give me any info on these stamps I would be very thankful.

Regards,
Kat

re: New member introduction: Kitekat

As I stated on your other post, the Irish stamp is not Scott #68b. Depending on the watermark it is either #68 or #109. Both stamps are common.

Kitekat Welcome to the club.....By the way kitekat is a very popular cat
food in England
in fact it is so popular that a friend of mine used to eat 2 tins a day..
When I told him it was not good for him, he never believed me. In fact
he died at an early age, poor chap
so I went over to give my condolences to his wife I told her about it.
She said "No it was not the kitekat that killed him, He was sitting
no the arm chair and licking his tail when he fell off and broke his neck"
....BY THE WAY teh first german stamp (the 3 sl. is a Polish stamp
overprinted for the german occupation of POLAND
Welcome
Richard
